In this Week 47 of the ZAPFic50 Friday, the prompt "crew" brought thoughts of the awesome socks that are a necessity in my wardrobe. I decided to check out the background of this ingenious foot accessory that's worn by generations since its invention.
Below is my story:
Would-be robbers targeted a neighborhood store in the 1940s.
Unfortunately, Kelly and some members of his gang, wearing their bizarre medium size white socks that rose between the ankle and knee, were there.
Kelly foiled their efforts.
A reporter hailed them as crew heroes.
Their socks: they became famous crews.
