Day 1196: 5 Minute Freewrite: Friday - Prompt: the sky opens up
My ZAPFIC50 below is a short story told in exactly 50 words. Even though the project is on hold by @felt.buzz, I still love to write them. It's a challenge to write a complete micro-story that is precisely 50 words. I based this 50-word story on @mariannewest's Freewrite prompt: The sky opens up. The snooze alarm alerted me that I was behind schedule. Dressing quickly, I grabbed a breakfast bar for the transit stop. Only two blocks away, I looked back at my umbrella and shook off the thought. It didn't take long to realize my mistake as the sky suddenly opened up.

Hello @ddn688 Yes, I miss it too. What @felt.buzz did was to take the freewrite prompts and use them for the ZAPfic 50 and 99 contest later. I just decided to continue it when I have time. I needed to catch up on numerous freewrite prompts. I figured this would be a good way to address some.

Hello @ddn688 I don't have a contest. I just decided to continue on with the ZAPFIC50 and 99 in my own way, just as @felt.buzz had completed a few that were based upon the freewrites. I took his example and have completed a few like he did. It's just a way for me to address some of the freewrite prompts without having to do a full freewrite.
I'm waiting for him to return and start it up again.

No stress at all. I love engaging with other Hive members and letting them know what I'm doing. I'll visit yours if you publish one. Then when Bruce returns, he can see we were thinking of him. Hope he doesn't return and throw them out for not meeting the guidelines. Sometimes my word counter will say 50 words, then trick me. :)

But he post's on daily basis about his café. I don't think that he's coming back anytime soon.
Use a better word counter. Remember that spaces are also counted.
