±1 Hectare of Burnt Land in Cot Keutapang Bireuen Village, Officers Managed to Extinguish the Fire.
Another land fire incident occurred in Bireuen District, Aceh Province, on Thursday, May 11 2023. Around ±1 hectare of land was burned in Cot Keutapang Village (Gampong) Cot Keutapang, Jeumpa Bireuen District.
The land fire adjacent to the Bireuen Sukma Bangsa School had panicked the students, the teachers' council and the surrounding community. The fire occurred at around 15.53. WIB.
According to the information obtained, the local community saw that the fire had burned the land outside the school fence. The fire suddenly soared high and burned the land which was overgrown with shrubs and bamboo clumps. Knowing that there had been a land fire, the local community immediately contacted the Bireuen fire department.
Not long after, three units of fire fleet were deployed to the scene of the incident to extinguish the fire. The officers immediately worked hard to put out the fire on the land which was overgrown with shrubs and bamboo groves.
Plants that had started to dry up accompanied by strong winds caused the fire to quickly spread to other areas. The location was very steep and the officers were a little overwhelmed in carrying out their duties.
However, about thirty minutes later, the officers managed to extinguish the fire on the land, about +1 hectare of land overgrown with shrubs and bamboo groves caught fire. The hot weather made the plants in the land dry and flammable, but after being extinguished the conditions were back under control.
The Bireuen Fire Brigade Team B Commander at the scene said that his party received information from the public at around 15.53. WIB, that there had been a land fire in the village.
His party immediately dispatched three units of fire fleets to put out the fire, the fire was extinguished about thirty minutes later. The cause of this disaster is not yet known, but around ± 1 hectare of land overgrown with shrubs and bamboo trees caught fire.
There were no casualties in the accident, conditions are back under control.
