Lo vi allí echado sobre la calle adoquinada. El corazón me saltó de alegría. Hace casi un mes que se desapareció y ya pensé que no volvería a verlo.
Me acerqué poco a poco, para no asustarlo y para cerciorarme de que efectivamente era él.
-Sí, sí- Es él.
-¡Canelo! - Llamé.
Enderezó la cabeza y se alborotó. Saludaba enloquecido. Me arrodillé a su lado y lo abracé. Luego, uno al lado del otro, regresamos a casa.
I saw him lying there on the cobblestone street. My heart jumped with joy. It's been almost a month since he disappeared and I already thought I'd never see him again.
I got closer little by little, not to scare him and to make sure it was really him.
-Yes, yes- It's him.
-Canelo! - I called.
He straightened his head and fussed. He waved wildly. I knelt down next to him and hugged him. Then, side by side, we headed home.
