A couple of weeks ago my next to youngest daughter went on vacation with her little family to Sugar Mountain North Carolina. They had a great time. They hiked Grandfather Mountain
and drove to the Mile High Bridge but she and her husband are both afraid of heights so they did not walk across the bridge she told the kids heck NO you are not walking across it.
They went white water rafting, from her pictures, it looked as if they had a great time doing this. She did not do this because she has a toddler to care for, so her husband and 3 older kids did it.
They flew out of Ashville, so when the vacation was over they drove back to the airport in Ashville just to find out that they had a delayed flight. She told me that since they had time, they did the tourist thing in Ashville. The kids were hungry so they stopped at a restaurant.
This is where the vacation became one of the scariest times in a mother's life. Her oldest son was staring at her with a strange look on his face, a look that she had never seen. He was choking.
My daughter is a nurse and knew what needed to be done but fear had a grip on her, her husband was performing the Heimlich maneuver but it was not coming out. She yelled for someone to call 911. Her husband was still trying to dislodge the chicken nugget to no avail. Then she told him to lower his hands, he did, and out it came.
As she was telling me about it, I could see the fear that she went through. She told me that she kept telling him, You are not going to die not here not today.

People who are choking, drowning, suffering a heart attack, or otherwise in medical distress rarely match Hollywood portrayals or fictional descriptions. Good rescue action, though!
Yes, I now agree. At first, she thought he was joking around. She said he was just looking at her in a strange way, not grabbing his throat or coughing. He is not a young child, he is 15 I would not have known what was going on and at first, she did not either.
