This is my post for #freewriters Tuesday prompt hello boys hosted by @mariannewest

Today was my one-week eye doctor appointment since he shot my eye with the laser. Last week he told me that I would need prescription glasses, this week he told me that store-bought reading glasses are all that I need. He said he is not going to do anything about the cataract in my right eye since I have a lazy eye and do not see out of it. He said if it gets painful then they will do something. So this is all good news.

We are going to fish tomorrow, so on the way home, we stopped at the fish house and got our ice. Two net boats were backed in, one of them is a friend of ours. They were clearing up their nets, they both had Spanish Mackeral and bluefish.

I walked up to JR and his striker and said hello boys you sure know how to make a girl feel jealous. (truth be told I did not really say hello boys) but I did say the jealousy part. JR is the fisherman that we know and a striker is what a helper is called.

I stood there talking to him while my husband got the ice. I walked to the truck to get my phone so I could snap a couple of pictures, but I guess that I talked too long, my husband opened his door and said let's go. So no pictures.

He told me we had to leave because Dawn ( she is the woman who works at the fish house), said she needed to run the forklift, and the other day she hit someone's truck, so she will not run it if there is a vehicle backed in there. I do not blame her but I wish my husband would have just pulled out of her way.

I'm glad to hear about your vision check up. It's nice that you don't need prescription glasses now! I always learn something new from you. I never heard of a striker before in the context that you use it. Happy fishing tomorrow!

thank you. I will be my husband's striker tomorrow, I like being the captain, lol

😄😁 I know you like to be the captain! I'm sure you make a great one, too.

I guess that I have been running my own boat for so long that it is hard to follow someone else's orders. I try to not get upset when he does not do something the way I would do them and truth be told he gets upset if I am running the boat and do things differently than he would do, but we work it out.

I can totally understand you. It's the same with me as far as running the household goes. I was alone for twenty years and then in August when we moved in together, after the wedding, I am learning to share my kitchen and my space. I'm weird about "clean" and he's much more relaxed on clean and tidy lol I'm learning to bite my tongue, and I'm learning to adapt. But we strong-willed women have a lot to contend with!

I am afraid that you will be biting your tongue for many years. Sorry to say it does not get easier. I used to be the same way about having a clean house but I have found that I am not nearly as upset if I let the little things go and do my cleaning when he is not home. I do not know why but it is hard to clean with him in the house.

I totally agree and clean when he is out. I'm just in my first six months of this marriage and got settled with having my place my way. I'm learning to loosen up slowly, but it's been so long that habits die hard! I hoped you're well.

This was a revelation ... didn't know that about fishermen ... and, glad for the good news on your eye!

thank you, I am glad that I could teach you something. lol

I, too, am always learning new things from your posts. Glad you got some good news about your eyes. I hope fishing goes well tomorrow.

I am pleased to teach, I have never really thought about others not knowing fishing terms, I guess it would be like me not knowing farming or tech terms.
