At the edge of the town is an old building with a rusted board that reads, "Free treatment for the poor."
No one knew who ran it, only that the lights at night always flickered.
One rainy evening, Sara, who is a nursing student, got lost on her way. Her phone battery was dead, her clothes were soaked, and the streets were empty. Then she saw the glowing clinic sign.
She knocked once. The door opened with a creaking sound. Inside, everything smelled of medicine and damp air. A kind-looking woman in a white coat smiled.
"You must be freezing," she said softly.
"Come in. You can help me tonight."
Inside, silent patients lay on beds, pale and still. Sara noticed that something was strange; none of them were breathing.
She turned to ask, but the woman was gone. Then one patient sat up and whispered, "She helps everyone... even the dead."
The lights went out. Only Sara's scream echoed through the empty clinic.
The next morning, the clinic's door was open again. A new light flickered inside, and a new nurse stood at the counter, smiling kindly at anyone who entered.
