Todas las mañanas Adrián el Gruñón salía caminar cerca de las montañas gemelas. La gente sabía que la de derecha era un lugar paradisiaco lleno de hermosas cascadas y elegantes pájaros de colores, pero que la de la izquierda estaba llena de monstruos de pesadilla que nadie quería ver y que por cierto nadie había visto, pues tan solo el pensar en la clase de monstruos que pudieran encontrarse, mejor nadie iba.
Así de grande era la creencia que nadie se atrevía a contradecir lo que los ancianos decían:
-Si vas a esa montaña te acecharán los monstruos mas terribles que te seguirán por toda tu vida-
-Ba!!- Decía Adrián el Gruñón, ahí no hay nada, son tan solo creencias de gente ignorante.
Un día Adrián el Gruñón decidió hacer una expedición por la temida montaña de la izquierda, pero al tomar la vereda que daba a ella, la voz de una niña le advirtió que no fuera.
-No vayas por esa montaña Adrián el Gruñón, ahí encontrarás los monstruos mas terribles que te seguirán por toda tu vida-
Rápidamente Adrián el Gruñón volteó hacia donde venía la voz. En efecto se trataba de una niña pequeña.
-No vayas por esa montaña Adrián el Gruñón, mejor ve por la otra que es un lugar paradisiaco lleno de hermosas cascadas y elegantes pájaros de colores-
-Ba!!- le dijo Adrián el Gruñón para luego continuar su caminata por la temida montaña de la izquierda que estaba llena de monstruos de pesadilla que nadie quería ver.
Adrián el Gruñó caminó horas y horas y ningún monstruo aparecía. Entonces se dijo así mismo.
-Así de desagradable me han de ver que ni los monstruos de pesadilla que nadie quiere se me aparecen-
Pero en eso, justo enfrente de sus ojos un horrible monstruo de un solo ojo y afilados brazos apareció.
-¿Qué haces por acá Adrián el Gruñón, no sabes que esta es la montaña de la izquierda que está llena de monstruos de pesadilla que nadie quiere ver?
-Si lo se, contestó Adrián el Gruñón sin parpadear y visiblemente amenazante-
-Permíteme presentarme, yo soy el monstruo de la arrogancia, combato con habilidad extrema a la humildad y el servilismo, todo aquél que me ve, se vuelve arrogante-
-Ba, le dijo Adrián el Gruñón sin parpadear-
-Yo ya soy arrogante, ¿Que mas puedes hacer?-
Aún no terminaba la frase cuando el temible monstruo de la arrogancia ya se había marchado. Resultó que, según la creencia general, el primer paso hacia humildad era reconocerse arrogante, por lo que el monstruo tuvo miedo de Adrián el Gruñón y se esfumo antes de ser aniquilado…
Every morning Grumpy Adrian went out for a walk near the Twin Mountains. People knew that the one on the right was a heavenly place full of beautiful waterfalls and elegant colored birds, but that the one on the left was full of nightmare monsters that nobody wanted to see and that certainly nobody had seen, because just thinking in the class of monsters that could be found, the better no one went.
So great was the belief that no one dared to contradict what the elders said:
-If you go to that mountain, the most terrible monsters will stalk you that will follow you throughout your life-
-Ba !! - Adrian the Grouch said, there is nothing there, they are just beliefs of ignorant people.
One day Grumpy Adrian decided to go on an expedition up the dreaded mountain on the left, but in precise moment he took the path that led to it, a girl’s voice warned him not to go.
-Don’t go up that mountain, Grumpy Adrian, there you will find the most terrible monsters that will follow you for your whole life-
Grouchy Adrian quickly turned to where his voice was coming from. It was indeed a little girl.
-Don’t go up that mountain Adrian the Grouch, better go through the other one, which is a paradisiacal place full of beautiful waterfalls and elegant colored birds-
-Ba !! - Grumpy Adrian told her end then continue his hike up the dreaded mountain on the left that was full of nightmare monsters that no one wanted to see.
Grouchy Adrian walked for hours and hours and no monsters appeared. Then he said to himself.
-That’s how unpleasant they have to see me that not even the nightmare monsters that nobody wants appear to me-
But at that, right in front of his eyes a horrible one-eyed, sharp-armed monster appeared.
-What are you doing around here Grumpy Adrian, don’t you know that this is the mountain on the left that is full of nightmare monsters that nobody wants to see?
-Yes I know, replied Grumpy Adrian without blinking and visibly threatening-
-Let me introduce myself, I am the monster of arrogance, I fight with extreme skill humility and servility, everyone who sees me becomes arrogant-
-Ba, said Grumpy Adrian without blinking-
-I’m already arrogant, what else can you do? -
He still hadn’t finished the sentence when the fearsome monster of arrogance had already left. It turned out that, according to the general belief, the first step towards humility was to admit to being arrogant, so the monster was afraid of Grouchy Adrian and vanished before being annihilated ...

A veces las opiniones de los demás hacia nuestra persona nos hacen pensar que somos de cierta manera, con el tiempo Adrián el gruñón aprenderá a conocerse a si mismo cambiando radicalmente la forma en que los demás lo ven. Saludos
