My other castle is a cloud in the sole of a shoe. You wouldn't believe the worlds in shoes, it's amazing. Jumbly, bumbly, worlds, always in motion. It's not as dark as you'd maybe imagine, there's a sun in the sole, in every sole, doncha know. Hot hot hot, it's hot hot hot. We haven't brought in the rolly AC yet, and it's hot hot hot. I think it might be time to open the door and let some air flow. I need to write a syllabus for an imaginary English composition class. I want the syllabus to incorporate freewriting and lots of time for writing in the classroom. I don't want to say people can't use computers for freewriting or notetaking, but I have heard people say that the research shows that it's better to take notes by hand. But I haven't read the research myself, so I mean, I don't know. How could I say students can't use computers if I'm just taking someone else's word for what they've read? And what of the students' own experience of themselves and how they learn best, or how they take notes best? Like, I know my professor last semester also said it's better, it's been proven it's better, to read books as physical books rather than e-books or audiobooks. But I haven't actually read that research and I do know people who prefer e-books and audiobooks and who am I to say that that doesn't work well for them, better for them than reading a physical book? What exactly happens with the brain? I don't know. I don't have time to do the research for myself before this syllabus is due.
