En Venezuela el cacao es una de las semillas autóctonas mas reconocidas del territorio y una de las más consumidas por los usuarios. De esta semilla al molerse se obtiene lo necesario para hacer el café de la mañana el cual es casi indispensable en la sociedad de hoy en día, algunos lo ingieren también en al medio día o en la noche, sobre todo las personas que trabajan de seguridad. Algunos venezolanos compran café de camino al trabajo, otros lo hacen en casa para el desayuno y otros lo hacen y se lo beben en el camino.
Hubo un tiempo en el año 2017 de escasez y duros tiempos para el país con la escasez de alimentos de todo tipo, la inflación y la crisis política que llevó a ciertas personas a aprovecharse de los venezolanos que quería tomarse su cafecito en las mañanas. Esta gente que no deberían tener el perdón de Dios, combinaba la semilla de cacao molida con tierra y vendía ese producto al público, por un precio un tanto bajo a lo que se podía conseguir en un supermercado que para el momento tuviese existencia.
Era una opción que muchas personas usaban para tomarse, aunque sea una tacita de café por la mañana ante los altos costos de los productos en el supermercado y las colas interminables que se formaban fuera del local para ingresar y luego dentro para pagar, pero no eran todos, también había un control impuesto por el gobierno de que solo las personas con determinado numero final en su cédula de identidad podría hacer la cola.
Esos tiempos sin duda alguna marcaron un antes y un después en el país, muchos se beneficiaron haciendo el mal, y otros simplemente soportaron y supieron aguantar para salir adelante. Recuerdo que en ocasiones estaba en clases y me llegaba un mensaje de mi tío para ir a comprar productos regulados, que en unos 15 minutos salía y que le dijera si estaba en casa o en la universidad para ir a buscarme, varias veces tuve que salir de la clase sobre todo en la mañana para ir a comprar los productos por terminal de cédula, ya que él era el mismo número que yo.
