Tiny Moments With Tiger

I woke up earlier than I planned today, thanks to my cat, Tiger, who decided dawn was the perfect time to step out for her business. (She’s a cat with a schedule, I’ll give her that.) I opened the door to let her out and the morning air greeted me with a cool and calm whisper. Actually, there's something oddly healing about that first breath of early air. It’s always like the world pressing a reset button.

I should have gone back inside. But instead, I decided to stay out with Tiger. The breeze was too gentle to leave behind, plus my mind, as usual, was a little too noisy to return to bed. So I sat outside, trying to untangle my thoughts. You know all the to-dos, the what-ifs, the I-should-haves, until they blurred together.

Shortly after the blur, I noticed the porch. Covered in scattered leaves from last night’s wind, it looked exactly like how my head felt. More cluttered and real messy. So I thought, if I couldn’t sweep my mind clean, maybe I could at least start with the ground.

So I grabbed the broom and began to sweep. Tiger, of course, after doing her business thought my sweeping was a game. Each sweep of the broom sent her chasing, pouncing and swatting at the broom like it was prey. Watching her do these things was funny and very enjoyable.

By the time we were done playing, I mean sweeping, lol. the yard looked peaceful again. And somehow, I did too. Tiger made the sweeping fun and the cool of the day made it all worth it too.

Pets are quite therapeutic too you know.
