Dad began to collect money, he promised that he would not drink anymore and that he would go home more often. One day he arrived very excited because the government was giving some land on the outskirts of the city, the only detail was that he had to build a place to live in less than a year one way or another and that the land did not have electricity or water, so it had to be hauled from another colony.

In almost two months we did not hear from him until he arrived with the news that we already had land, but that he had promised to pay for a small cabin within 8 to 10 years. Mom was very happy at first, but when we had to start carrying water she was no longer happy. Dad had made for us a wooden cart with small wheels to bring it, but no matter how much I pushed it, nothing moved, it was my mother who had to do it.

Everything was going more or less well until we found out that dad never paid anything for the house and they ended up evicting us, we had to say goodbye to the cabin to go live at the house of a friend of mom’s, fortunately we didn’t have to carry water there.
