One At A Time.

I want to do everything at once but I can't
Life is not like that because there is a process to things
You can't do everything you want to do in a clean swoop
It's the order of life and you've got to respect it

Have you taken a look at the children?
You don't start walking without crawling
A few wobble feet here and there and they gain mastery
You can't run without learning how to walk first

Lines upon lines and precepts upon precepts the Bible says
A little here and a little there makes a whole
It boils down to resilience and hard work too
Keep making the steps but don't try to do all at once

Stop inviting unnecessary pressure on yourself
Stop looking at others without understanding where they are coming from
Stop following the line of impressing others
You need your sanity intact to be able to do greater things in life

Cheers.

I resonate with the message in your poem. I do want sometimes that things move quickly and for the best but I guess there are lessons to learn so that it happens...or maybe this is an illusion that we say to ourselves to make sense of life's disappointing moments.

I love your thoughts on the last part. Sometimes it could be how we cope with life's disappointing moments so we try to take things easier but it's still good so as to reduce unnecessarily pressure, make us think with clear head and try again.
