The last two posts were assignments to two different staff writers. They wrote a draft and SHARED the draft using our new "Shared Draft" feature on PeakD.com. Through the new feature, we were able to make some suggestions and direct edits to get the posts ready for publishing. Thanks @mozzie5 and @rosiew.

PEAKD STAFF WRITERS
We consider it a bit of a "news room" approach. Writers will make pitches of the kinds of posts our users will want to see and, at the same time, we will have ideas of our own and give some assignments. We may even write them ourselves and share them with a writer to double check.

The new Shared Drafts feature makes collaborating very easy.

CALL FOR MORE WRITERS
We want to lighten the burden and give writers more time to work on more involved and helpful posts so we would like to add more writers to our team... several more if possible. We want to keep a high standard of posts with great formatting, accurate statements and helpful information.

HOW IT WORKS
Anyone interested in writing for @peakd is invited to do the following steps:

  1. Follow @peakd.writers (we will follow back)
This action is required to use Shared Drafts feature.
  2. Write a post you think our users would benefit from reading
  3. Share the draft with @peakd.writers
  4. Interact on this discord channel if possible https://discord.gg/KgpaKJwnKk
You can ask questions, share your idea and get feedback, see what assignments we may be newly interested in, help others, mention that your draft has been shared... etc

TRIAL RUN
We invite you to participate in the first trial run to see how it goes. This will be a ONE WEEK opportunity, so if you're interested, follow the instructions above. You will have until the payout of this post to share a draft with us. The payout of this post will serve as the countdown timer. Share your draft with us before March 13th.

We will also look at your previous body of posts and see if your style matches what we like for our account, but we'll mostly look at the shared draft you create during this trial period. We'll also see if you're supportive of your potential teammates.

If we don't accept your post
It's ok because you can post it to your own account anyway and @peakd will use our vote and give you a tip. There may be a trial run again later.

OTHER LANGUAGES
There has already been interest in writing posts in other languages (not just translating our posts). We are open to the idea and want writers on staff that can do other languages. However, we just don't know what to do for posting so we'll take suggestions. Perhaps we post from @peakd however just less frequently. We will for sure take a couple during the trial run.

IDEA BRAINSTORM

  • Posts that are great recaps for new users
  • Reviewing or instructing about groups of underappreciated features
  • Going through big involved pages like drafts or wallet
  • How new features like shared draft feature can be used... maybe find some examples of companies using it.
  • Some how-to posts like how to use "posting authority" and write in what cases it's beneficial and maybe talk to people that have used it and why it's helpful to them.
  • Interviewing or polling users about broader subjects and tell us what that means for PeakD and Hive
  • We can give access to some stats so you can analyze and tell us what they mean for PeakD and Hive.
  • Researching possible ways to handle multi-language posts (and what people like)
  • How users are using the Curated Content Collections (CCC/)

In general the posts need to take some time and thought and nice formatting but that doesn't mean they always have to be long... we'd like a mix of medium length posts as well.

REWARD
Posts can be negotiated if they are going to take a lot of time to research or poll. However, the go to rate will likely be 60% beneficiary and a guaranteed floor for just in case the votes aren't enough... meaning we'd send HBD if it doesn't hit a certain target. A floor in particular if it's a post we requested. You can view our recent posts and see if this is acceptable to you. If you think you have special talents (like more involved research or polling) and want to do more involved posts you can send me a message requesting different terms.

Guest writers will likely default to around 40% but that's negotiable as well.

Other writers often get assigned to assist on posts so they'll get a bit of the beneficiary as well. Such as the case with this post.

Bonus perk is that often @peakd is looking for more things to vote on and to share drafts with @peakd account we would need to follow you. Therefore more votes from our account.

ARE YOU INTERESTED?
If yes let us know in comments, join the discord chat and follow @peakd.writers.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO READ?
If you're not interested in being the writer, perhaps you have ideas of posts that potential writers could research and write about. This would be a huge help. What do you want to read?

Sort:

I am really interested. I do the first step. I follow @peakd.writers . Can I write a post on "How we can use Markdown in our posts." or simply "Markdown". If No then please give me a topic to write. Thanks

That's a great subject

Thanks. I try my best to make an interesting, educative and beautiful post on Markdown.

I prepare a post. How i can share draft.

I'm very interested. It's an opportunity to write about PeakD, its features, and Hive in general. Also to put my writing skills in the service of the community as a whole. I'll get in touch.

I was a professional copy editor ... this does tempt me ... the idea of a PeakD newsroom appeals to me ...

I'm totally interested in this. Just to be clear, we make a post on any Of the topics, but instead of publishing we share our draft to @peakd.writers

Any word count limit?

No word count limit i think just write types of posts that you'll be able to do consistently ... even if we don't publish we'll tip and vote.

Alright.. Noted
Thanks for the feedback.

Interesting idea. Did I get this right, those posts would go out from the @peakd.writers account, but 60% would go to the author?
In which community would those be posted? Depending on the subject?

No they are published by @peakd but @peakd is not going to follow people who are simply testing it out... it will follow those who are official writers.

This is really interesting. Although I like what I just read, I don't know if I can qualify because actually my English is not very good. When I write in English I use translators like DeepL.com to make as few mistakes as possible.

I think that's the beauty of the Shared Drafts Feature, and since you're part of a team, you'll have someone who could do the editing! Give it a shot!

P.S. I'm not yet part of the team but I want to be. I just saw your message and feel like you need to be encouraged ;)

Thank you for your words of encouragement!

Just followed @peakd.writers I have a post I'd like to share for your consideration. Thanks!

Hi @peakd , just want to ask, did you notice that in the new peakd site update, the "MY Referrals" is not working?

Is just showing 404 page not found.

The same is showing in the "My Lists" too.

Can you please fix this problems? Because, we need our referrals page.

Many thanks

Regards

So good news!

We can give access to some stats so you can analyze and tell us what they mean for PeakD and Hive.

I had something to say and said in a Turkish post about that feature. I may try an Englisgh post about that feature.

Very interesting ideas especially for newcomers

Dang, I'm only just seeing this now after the March 13 cutoff. I hold a Bachelor of Journalism and serve as chief editor and writer for an EDM news publication. My main focus is on Splinterlands and the PeakMonsters infrastructure. I can write original material, or I can assist with editing, whatever is necessary and helpful. Thank you for your consideration.
