Experience with microphotography🔬 / Experiencia con microfotografia🧠

Hello friends science addicts! Today I bring you a post with photos that I have been perfecting about microorganisms! for those who are new to the microscope there are two ways to see an organism, we can use "the main light source" which is the one that emits a light in the middle of the slide and that passes through the body of the microorganism! then we have another technique that is more difficult to perfect and it is something that I have been working on for some time, which is "Microphotography with the macro lamp" that is used to see larger objects, animals or plants! I hope you enjoy the experience!🧠👨‍💻🤯

Microorganisms seen from another perspective👨‍🏫🔬/ Microorganismos vistos de otra perspectiva🙇‍♂️🧫

The tricky part is knowing and how to search! To make microphotography with the macro lamp we need to look for microorganisms that have a size between 0.5mm to 3mm, anything that measures microns is much more difficult to photograph and it is difficult because the sample on the slide does not receive enough light! therefore I recommend using a fabric net to capture any animals or plants that don't go through the fabric as those will be a good size! I recommend you search in bodies of green and standing water! or "with very little circulation."🙇‍♂️👨‍💻📚

Here we see a specimen of Ostracod they are common in still fresh waters, they can be seen in waters with many nutrients or a "transparent" body of water, normally this species has a calcified "shell" that allows the light of the microscope to pass through, therefore many withdraw the animal out of the "shell", for this you must use entomology tweezers, I will not do it but practice a little with it to take the photos with the secondary lamp!🙇‍♂️🔬🧫

See coloration of the microorganism👨‍🏫🔬/ Ver coloracion del microorganismo🙇‍♂️🧫

I am about to buy a professional microscope but first I want to perfect the technique of photography with a secondary lamp. This technique is very important to identify any organism, whether animal or plant. For example, to identify the ostracod we need to see the color of its "shells" and with the primary light it is impossible since it goes through the animal! but with this lamp I can see that it has some reddish spots, I can say that it could be (Notrodomas monachas).😱😱

Looking at the image well, they even seem like two different things, but in reality it is the same animal that is being photographed with two different techniques! Mastering this observation makes us much more adept at identifying a species! while if we want to see its anatomy such as the digestive system, blood system or any "organ or accessory", then the primary lamp must be used! I've been doing some research and filters can be used to improve the light reflecting off our specimens!👨‍💻📚🙇‍♂️

Daphnia👨‍🏫🔬/ Daphnia🙇‍♂️🧫

This species of Brachiopod are common in stagnant waters and are found almost everywhere in the world! they are great filter feeders and use their antennae to move or remove detritus! The identification guide tells me that the species: (Sida cristallina) has very complex eyes bordered by "cones" and their color is translucent! Both characteristics coincide with my species, in addition to the fact that its head is large, unlike the body if we compare it with the other species!😱📚

Colorful organisms👨‍🏫🔬/ Organismos coloridos🙇‍♂️🧫

Annelids are one of my favorite animals! because we think they are all earthworms and they are not! there is a great variety of annelids although many are common in muddy places and stagnant waters! This one I captured has a series of hairs that can serve as sensory organs! his body is segmented!😱📚🧠

Finally, if we use photography with the secondary lamp we can obtain details of very small things, for example some parasite egg, a tecada amoeba, the thing is that we open the window to a new world!😱📚🧠
