Dagestan, Saltinskaya Gorge (14pics)

in Pinmapple10 months ago (edited)

Greeting, friends.
Outside my window are summer, green grass, and trees. But already now our company is starting to plan a trip for Christmas, we are deciding on the direction of our trip. During the discussion, memories of our trip to Dagestan last Christmas returned.
Yes, our corporate trips happen in winter. This has its charms and advantages over summer visits to tourist places. The most important thing is the absence of many people in interesting places, cafes, and restaurants. Of course, there are places where tourists tend to go at Christmas, but Dagestan is not among them. It is possible that in a couple of years, the situation will change and tourists will go on Christmas holidays and to these beautiful places.

In winter, we can get to places that are inaccessible in the summer.
I have already told you about the beginning of our trip to Dagestan in December 2022. Today I want to tell you about the beginning of our trip to the mountains. We were in the mountains in different places for 3 days.
Our first stop was at the village of Salta . The Bakdakuli River flows near this village. This river passes through the mountain, forming a cave. In winter, the river dries up and in this case, we can go into the cave itself. That's where we went. This place is called Saltinskoe Gorge.

It is very nice that a very convenient pedestrian bridge is equipped along the canyon. In the cave itself, a rope is stretched in particularly difficult places so that people can hold onto it and not fall on slippery rocks. That day, the air temperature in this place was about zero and you had to be very careful to stay on your feet.

It must be very beautiful to visit here in the summer and see how the water falls from above. How long has the river been flowing through this place? She made this cave, which is illuminated through the holes formed at the top.
Friends, have you been to the caves before? Do you know what great acoustics there are and this? It's just fascinating.

Oh, those girls. They always want to take interesting selfies and post them on Instagram. At all the points where we were, the girls tried to capture themselves in different poses.

On such walks in the fresh air, the appetite is very good, it is always nice to drink tea or coffee. The most important thing is not to leave garbage behind, you can not harm nature.
To do this, there is an equipped playground on which there is a table and you can relax a little and think about the beauty. I think that trade in locally produced goods and local food is organized at this place during the tourist season.

This is already the village of Gunib, the district center. Here we had a delicious lunch, a visit to the local museum, and an observation deck and then we drove through the pass even further into the mountains. Our adventure continues.

All the photos were taken by me on a Nikon D5300 camera.
Friends, are you ready to continue my journey through Dagestan with me?

Потрясающе красивые места!

И там нужно побывать в разное время года. как сказал гид - в период цветения персиков. ну и потом по мере созревания различных фруктов. :)

Эх... везде есть красивые места. я так думаю, что вокру
г тебя уж точно их много

Great shots, it seems like a fabulous place! I'd love to live there... at least for a while! 🙃

Right in the cave? 😂
People leave the mountains for the lowlands. There are more ways to earn a living at the bottom. Young people don't want to live in villages, they want a city, entertainment.
