Hi Hive community, in this post I want to tell you about a historical event in my city to which I am very attached and to which I have witnessed since I was a child: "The 1000 miles". This was a car competition made in the first half of the 20th century until 1957 with departure from Brescia, arrival in Rome and return to Brescia. Its name derives from the fact that the route, despite the passages in different cities depending on the years, is still 1600 km long, which is equivalent to 1000 Roman miles.
Ciao Hive community, in questo post vi voglio parlare di un evento storico della mia città a cui sono molto legata e a cui assisto sin da quando sono bambina: "La 1000 miglia". Questa fu una competizione automobilistica fatta nella prima metà del '900 fino al 1957 con partenza Brescia arrivo a Roma e ritorno a Brescia. Il suo nome deriva dal fatto che il percorso, nonostante i passaggi in diverse città a seconda degli anni, sia comunque sempre lungo 1600 km che equivalgono a 1000 miglia romane.
From the end of the 1970s, the 1000 Miglia returns as a historic race that retraces the stages of the old competition, always starting from Brescia, arriving in Rome and returning to Brescia.However, it is not a timed or speed race, but rather a precision road race, that is, you have to arrive at the stage in a very specific time, neither too early nor late and you pass as we have said through northern Italy and the center, and for splendid places of art.Participation in the race is limited to cars produced until 1957, although more modern cars can also be seen.So having seen what we have said, the 1000 miles is won not by whoever finishes first but by whoever was more precise during the entire journey.
Da fine anni ‘70 la 1000 Miglia ritorna come gara storica che ripercorre le tappe della vecchia competizione, sempre con partenza da Brescia, arrivo a Roma e ritorno a Brescia. Non è però una gara a tempo o di velocità, ma piuttosto una gara di precisione su strada cioè bisogna arrivare alla tappa in un tempo ben preciso, né troppo presto né in ritardo e si passa come abbiamo detto attraverso l’Italia del nord e del centro, e per splendide località d’arte. La partecipazione alla gara è limitata alle autovetture prodotte fino al 1957, anche se è possibile vedere anche vetture più moderne. Quindi visto quello che abbiamo detto, la 1000 miglia viene vinta non da chi arriva primo ma da chi è stato più preciso durante l’intero percorso.
This year the competition is set for 16 June with arrival on 19. It is certainly a wonderful experience because it allows you to immerse yourself in the wonders of northern and central Italy, crossing different cities allows participants to admire the territory and also taste culinary delights.
Questo anno la competizione è fissata per il 16 giugno con arrivo il 19. E' sicuramente un'esperienza bellissima perchè consente di immergersi nelle meraviglie dell'Italia del nord e centrale, attraversando diverse città consente ai partecipanti di ammirare il territorio e di degustare anche le bontà culinarie.
As I said previously, it is a very important event that all Brescians particularly care about, even those who understand little or nothing about cars and engines (like me), but during the 1000 miles period, nothing else is talked about and everyone seems great experts.
Come ho detto precedentemente è un evento molto importante a cui tutti i bresciani tengono particolarmente, anche coloro che di macchine e motori capiscono poco o niente (come me), ma durante il periodo della 1000 miglia, non si parla d'altro e tutti sembrano grandi esperti.
So if someone were to be in Brescia or in one of the cities chosen for the passage of the 1000 miles this year, I invite you to go and see it because it is a very interesting event, last year unfortunately due to covid the race was made in closed doors, this year we are ready to welcome you in complete safety.

Quindi se qualcuno dovesse trovarsi a Brescia o in una delle città scelte per il passaggio della 1000 miglia quest’anno, vi invito ad andare a vederla perchè è un evento davvero molto interessante, l’anno scorso purtroppo causa covid la gara è stata fatta a porte chiuse, quest’anno siamo pronti ad accoglierla in tutta sicurezza.
