Today I bring the beautiful Hive platform and the Pinmapple family a walk through the beautiful San Telmo fair, which only takes place on Sundays.
It is one of my favorite places and I love having had the opportunity to visit it, since this time, I did it as a content creator, so my gaze began to focus on what I know that you, who read me, like it. to like it.
I observed the colors, the people, the stalls where they sold different handicrafts typical of the Argentine capital, and this time I discovered flying ornaments, T-shirts with prints of characters from the culture of this country, and also typical artisan elements such as mates.

Mis días en Buenos Aires fueron breves pero al mismo tiempo estuvieron plagados de recuerdos, de visitas, de experiencias y de vivencias que aunque muchas de ellas ya formaban parte de mi historia viajera, hoy, desde otra perspectiva, me ofrecieron alegría y encuentro, conmigo, con mi país, con mis raíces.
Hoy traigo a la hermosa plataforma de Hive y a la familia de Pinmapple, un paseo por la hermosa feria de San Telmo, que únicamente tiene lugar los días domingos.
Es uno de mis lugares preferidos y me encanta haber tenido la posibilidad de visitarla, ya que esta vez, lo hice como creadora de contenido, por lo que mi mirada empezó a enfocarse en aquello que se que a ustedes, que me leen, les va a gustar.
Observé los colores, la gente, los puestos en donde vendían diferentes artesanías típicas de la capital argentina, y esta vez descubrí adornos voladores, remeras con estampas de personajes de la cultura de este país, y también elementos artesanales y típicos como los mates.
Where is the fair?
The San Telmo fair extends linearly along Defensa street until it reaches Plaza de Mayo, an Argentine emblem that you will now see at sunset, but that I will show you a little better later, since that day was difficult. take more photos.
In San Telmo, in addition to numerous artisan stalls, it is possible to enjoy regional music such as tango, which is accompanied by dances in the street, where you can see the dancers dancing to the rhythm of music that can also be live. . In these cases, a large number of people gather to observe the street performance, which reveals the artistic and cultural nature of Buenos Aires.

La feria de San Telmo se extiende de manera lineal a lo largo de la calle Defensa hasta llegar a la Plaza de Mayo, un emblema argentino que verán ahora en el atardecer, pero que luego les mostraré un poco mejor, ya que ese día fue difícil tomar más fotos.
En San Telmo, además de numerosos puestos de artesanos, es posible disfrutar de música regional como el tango, lo cual acompañan con danzas en la calle, en donde se puede ver a los bailarines danzando al ritmo de la música que también puede ser en vivo. En estos casos, se reúne una gran cantidad de gente para observar el espectáculo callejero, que deja en evidencia la naturaleza artística y cultural de Buenos Aires.
The three characters on the bench
Another thing that can be enjoyed in San Telmo and that can surprise foreigners, is to contemplate or take a picture with Mafalda, Manolito and Susanita, three characters created by Quino, who developed a famous cartoon, Mafalda, which with the character of a girl addresses national and global social, political and economic issues, as well as situations of daily life.
This cartoon became so famous that it transcended generations and all ages. Currently I have come to see drawings of Mafalda in Genoa, Italy, so maybe you do know her. But an Argentine undoubtedly knows what I'm talking about.
This sculpture is located on Calle Defensa-Montserrat, and it is a square bench with these three characters waiting for visitors to sit next to them.
Tourists make a long line, about a block long, to be able to take the picture. In my case, I have a photo from several years ago at the bank, so I simply took a picture of the characters to avoid standing in long lines.

Otra cosa que puede disfrutarse en San Telmo y que puede sorprender a extranjeros, es contemplar o tomarse una foto con Mafalda, Manolito y Susanita, tres personajes creados por Quino, quien desarrolló una famosa historieta, Mafalda, que con el personaje de una niña aborda temas sociales, políticos y económicos nacionales y mundiales, como también situaciones de la vida cotidiana.
Esta historieta se hizo tan famosa que trascendió generaciones y todas las edades. Actualmente he llegado a ver dibujos de Mafalda en Génova, Italia, por lo que tal vez sí la conoces. Pero un argentino, sin dudas sabe de lo que estoy hablando.
Esta escultura se encuentra en la calle Defensa-Montserrat, y es un banco de plaza con estos tres personajes que están a la espera de que los visitantes se sienten junto a ellos.
Los turistas hacen una larga fila, de alrededor de una cuadra para poder tomar la fotografía. En mi caso, tengo una foto de hace varios años atrás en el banco, por lo que simplemente tomé una fotografía de los personajes para evitar hacer la larga fila.

In this case, I recommend looking at the prices and making comparisons because as it is a place that is quite popular with international tourists, there are bars, cafes and restaurants that have excessively high prices, while perhaps next to one of these places you will find "normal" prices. .
It happened to me that they wanted to charge us $4,500 Argentinian pizza without drinks, while in the bar literally in front of it, the same pizza with two beers was worth $2,500. Of course we stayed there, in that place called “Punto Único”.
It is beautiful to sit in one of these places because you can breathe the Buenos Aires atmosphere (that's what they say to what belongs to Buenos Aires). The music, the voices, the people, the colors of the buildings, the tourists, the trees, the aromas. After a long walk through the fair and maybe some shopping, sitting back and relaxing for a moment right here is a great option.
Algo más de la feria
También encontrarán numerosos restaurantes en esta calle, en especial en las esquinas. Recomiendo en este caso observar los precios y hacer comparaciones porque como se trata de un lugar bastante concurrido por turistas internacionales, hay bares, cafeterías y restaurantes que tienen precios excesivamente altos, mientras que quizás al lado de uno de estos lugares encuentras precios “normales”.
Me pasó que querían cobrarnos una pizza a $4500 argentinos sin bebida, mientras que en el bar literalmente frente a este, la misma pizza con dos cervezas valía $2500. Claro que nos quedamos allí, en ese bar que se llamaba “Punto Único”.
Es hermoso sentarse en uno de estos lugares porque se respira el ambiente porteño (así le dicen a lo que pertenece a Buenos Aires). La música, las voces, las personas, los colores de los edificios, los turistas, los árboles, los aromas. Después de una larga caminata por la feria y tal vez algunas compras, sentarse y relajarse un momento aquí mismo es una gran opción.

As this is a very busy place, it is essential that you take care of your belongings. Always carry the backpack forward, the cell phone stored or firmly in hand, trying not to expose it. Do not show too much money if you are going to buy and avoid wearing exposed jewelry such as pendants or rings, since they can be bait for someone to want to take them.
Although the walk felt quite safe, we must remember that we are in Latin America and that it is much more insecure than a visit to Europe. But if the appropriate precautions are taken, there will be no problem, you just don't have to show that you are carrying something of value, and as far as possible, you should try not to show that you are a tourist, although of course in many places in the city, this will be practically impossible.
It is good to see how other people act and imitate them. For example, carrying the backpack forward is something that is seen quite a lot, and I think it is a great safety measure to take.
¡La mochila siempre hacia adelante! : Precauciones
Como se trata de un lugar muy concurrido, es fundamental que cuides tus pertenencias. Lleva siempre la mochila hacia adelante, el celular guardado o bien firme en la mano, intentando no exponerlo. No muestres demasiado dinero si vas a comprar y evita llevar joyas expuestas como colgantes o anillos, ya que pueden ser carnada para que alguien quiera tomarlas.
Aunque se sintió bastante seguro el paseo, hay que recordar que estamos en América LAtina y que es bastante más inseguro que una visita a Europa. Pero si se toman las precauciones adecuadas, no habrá ningún problema, simplemente no hay que demostrar que uno lleva algo de valor, y en lo posible, hay que buscar no evidenciar que uno es turista, aunque claro que en muchos lugares de la ciudad, esto será prácticamente imposible.
Es bueno ver cómo actúan las demás personas e imitarlos. Por ejemplo, el llevar la mochila hacia adelante es algo que se ve bastante, y creo que es una gran medida de seguridad a tomar.
