It's a interesting question @buckaroobaby. From what I've been told and from research, Werribee was a common place for travelers to stop overnight during the late 1840s. Thomas Chirnside, a Scotsman who moved here first, saw a lot of potential here, so he decided to build many shops and hotels on the land. Werribee has grown into a thriving city since then... It seems very fantastic.
