Hi dear Hivers and @worldmappin fam! How’s everyone doing? It’s been quite a while since I last posted here, but no worries — today I’ll be sharing my quick escape adventure in Thailand!
I’ll take you with me to Phuket, Thailand! This was actually my first time visiting this part of the country. I’ve been to Thailand before, but only to Bangkok. Thailand is a big country with so much to explore, and this time I finally got to experience another side of it.
This trip wasn’t easy for me since I traveled alone, with flight layovers, and it was also my first time going abroad by myself. There were a lot of “firsts,” but everything was definitely worth it — no complaints at all!
When I arrived at Phuket International Airport, my friend had arranged a car pickup for me to get to the Marriott Hotel. I had a bit of a hard time finding the car and the driver at first, but after a while I finally managed to get in. I was surprised (in a good way!) that there was a service arranged for me — it really made things easier and less stressful.
I came here because my friend treated me to a quick vacation, so I spent the weekend enjoying Phuket.
The ride from the airport to the Marriott Hotel took about an hour or two. It was nice that the car had free drinking water inside. I couldn’t really talk to the driver because he didn’t speak English very well, so I just enjoyed the view during the ride on the way to the hotel.
When I arrived at the hotel, my friend was already waiting for me in the lobby. I was so relieved to have arrived safe and sound. We went straight up to our room so I could drop off my luggage. The view from our room was absolutely wonderful. It was right by the beach, and we also had access to the pool. There were a lot of people checking in while we were there. Then after a few minutes we decided to head out for some drinks and food.
The place we chose to eat at served Indian or Arabian food. It was a nice and cozy spot, and we really enjoyed the dishes — everything was delicious. We also had some wine to go with our meal. To end the night, we walked around and enjoyed the lively street vibes. We found a tiki bar and had a few more drinks there before heading back to the hotel.
On our second day, we planned to go on a tour. It was a zipline adventure — something I was actually scared of, but I managed to conquer my fear! There were several zip lines, and I ended up shouting every time I tried one. The last part was definitely the best, because I got to see a stunning view of the sea. It was so much fun!
After that, we went to a seafood restaurant where we ordered lobster and other fresh seafood. Everything was delicious! And of course, we also enjoyed some drinks afterward.
We were supposed to explore the elephant sanctuary on our third day, but we ended up getting food poisoning. The next morning, our stomachs were aching badly, and I had to go out and find a drugstore to buy medicine for both of us. The weather wasn’t great either — it looked like a typhoon was about to hit. So we decided to stay at the hotel, relax on the balcony, and just enjoy the beach and the view.
This quick adventure was a wonderful surprise for me, and I’m glad I was able to make it! Sometimes in life, you have to take risks, but it’s also important to be careful and responsible. That way, you’ll see where life takes you and discover how you can handle every situation. This trip was definitely a fun and memorable experience that I will never forget.

That was a beautiful visit. Yeah one of my wishes is doing zip lining maybe one day it's look so fun 😊
