Camping and sup at Phu Ninh Lake

On the occasion of a friend of mine, Trung, returning to Da Nang to visit his mother, the two of us arranged an outing somewhere far away where we had never been before. This time, Phu Ninh lake in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province was selected. Looking on google map this is a large freshwater lake, with many floating islands in the lake (coordinates 15.4945594, 108.4551269).

Through the photos shared on Facebook, I see that there are a few beautiful flat lawns along the lakeside, this place is also chosen by locals and young people to go camping. We plan to bring the sup to paddle out to the floating islands in the middle of the lake to find an ideal and private place where we can have fun and chat undisturbed. The location of the lake is about 10km from the center of Tam Ky city, an ideal place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. My friend borrowed a scooter from his friend and we moved together on the chosen state highway (about 75km from Da Nang). The state highway leading to Tam Ky is quite beautiful with sunny sand dunes in a semi-desert style. Only plants suitable for that type of sandy soil can live such as leek, casuarina, ... We went from 14:30 pm when the sun was still quite hot plus the heat emanating from the surface of the road and the empty sand dunes along the highway. Trung drove so fast, causing me to almost roll over few times because I held the sup with great wind resistance😂.

Because Trung thought there would be a gas station on the road, with 1/3 of a tank of gas, we ran on the highway all the time without a gas station to refill. As a result, our motorbike ran out of gas in the middle of a scorching hot road and there was not a house nearby to ask for help. At this point we have travelled about 50km. We had to walk for more than 400m, fortunately, we saw a welcome gate leading to a small street with houses. We were planning to let one of us walk in to ask for help when fortunately, a middle-aged woman riding a motorbike in the opposite direction stopped to ask when we were carrying bulky belongings. We also told her about the situation and asked her if there was a gas station nearby because it was our first time here. She enthusiastically told us that the gas station was still far away, about 8km away. She told us to wait for the motorbike under the tree to cool down and then let her go into the small village to buy gas for us. We quickly thanked her and watched her disappear, we were glad that we didn't have to push the motorbike another 8km in this terrible heat. After waiting for about 10 minutes, she came back with a bottle of gasoline in a 1.5-liter soft drink bottle, she said that in the village they sell gasoline at grocery stores, so it is more expensive than gas stations. For us, it was a pleasure to have her help in time, we sent her gas money and gave her some money to thank her and received a smile on her sun-tanned face.

Continuing on the way to Tam Ky city, we went to the market to buy food and water for dinner. Then, I went to find a supermarket to buy a bottle of Korean Soju, when I got close to the supermarket, our motorbike tire was punctured, so Trung drove the motorbike to repair, and I kept our belongings and went to the supermarket to buy some wine and dry food to enjoy tonight. It was more than 5pm, which was beyond our expectations, so we moved quickly before it got dark. Followed the google map to the lake, we were stopped by a barrier across the road, we asked the security guard but he said cannot open the barrier due to covid epidemic prevention regulations. We had sup, so we found another way around the lake, it took about 6km more. We are just driving while looking for a path where we can ride our motorbike to the lakeside below.

After finding the lakeside, we moved our motorbikes down to the shore near the water's edge, running on the rough road of the shore, we felt like the tires were slowly deflated again. We thought it may be because the motorbike repairman has repaired it carelessly or the tires were too worn and easily punctured, but we didn't care what happens tomorrow, we wouldn't let the problems arise to affect this comfortable outing. We quickly split up to pump sup, collect firewood, load stuff and firewood on sup rowing. At 17:45, the sunset was sinking behind the mountains, but the red halo of the sunset was still bright in a corner of the sky. Fortunately, summer has just begun at the end of April, so the sun sets later than in winter, so we still had enough light to paddle. Honestly, Phu Ninh Lake brings the first impression is the vastness and overlapping by the hills and mountains, the rippled lake surface challenges us to row with the waves to avoid losing strength. Looking out into the distance, we saw a small mound without trees with only grass as small as hairs, as an attractive bonus with a 360° view of the campsite. Going up there to explore, we found that the ground on the top was quite flat, although a bit hard, so we cut a patch of grass at the bottom of the tent to make it easier to sleep at night. We each had a job, prepare food, set up tents, picnic tables and chairs, and provide lamps. We ate, drank, barbecued, and talked as the cool air around the lake bounced around until there were no trees to block the wind. The light soju warms the body slowly from the inside, balancing it with the cool feeling on the outside, giving it an indescribable and truly relaxing feeling. There was a moon that day, so the surrounding sky could still be seen dimly by the mountains in front of them. We all joked as if we were in Ha Long Bay. The two of us have not seen each other for a long time, and in such a quiet suitable location, it creates a deep conversation and relieves the stress and pressure after the severe lockdown.

Waking up in the morning by the early morning sunlight, we opened the tent door to see the surroundings in daylight. We have a feeling of peace and full of energy. Welcoming a new day in a strange and beautiful place will surely be unforgettable moments. We got a little exercise by paddling around the lake in search of something new. This is our first-time rowing sup (I just bought it 3 days ago and haven't had time to paddle) so the excitement was clearly visible on both of our faces. The feeling of freedom floating on the rippled lake is stimulating. Now we can clearly see the blue color of the lake. The attractive blue turquoise color blends with the green of the surrounding mountains and forests as an effective eye massage. Walking around the floating islands to admire the scenery, take pictures and have breakfast with cakes, then we decided to return because the lake is too large, it takes more time to paddle all the way. And the sun also starts to get hot at 8 am. After packing up my things and rowing back to get my motorbike, the tire was flat. Pushing motorbikes and belongings to the road, ignoring the tires because I decided to change the new tires, I stayed to look after the furniture and Trung kept running to find a place to fix the motorbike. After waiting for about 30 minutes, he came back to pick me up and then we went straight to Da Nang by another road, which is the Da Nang - Quang Ngai highway. Back to the city it was more than 12 noon, we had lunch and went home to sleep until the evening because we were tired from long-distance driving.

Ending a trip full of problems but still very satisfied when both increase the experience and interesting problem-solving. It's important to go with loved ones on simple and impromptu self-organized occasions to connect more closely.

Camping and sup Phu Ninh Lake

Nhân dịp cậu em ra Đà Nẵng thăm mẹ,hai anh em sắp xếp một chuyến đi chơi xa đâu đó và chọn một nơi cả hai chưa từng đến. Lần này hồ Phú Ninh thuộc thành phố Tam Kỳ tỉnh Quảng Nam được chọn. Nhìn trên google map đây là một hồ nước ngọt rộng lớn,với rất nhiều đảo nổi trong lòng hồ( tọa độ 15,4945594, 108,4551269). Qua những hình ảnh được chia sẻ trên facebook thấy có vài bãi cỏ phẳng,ven hồ được người dân và các bạn trẻ cắm trại dã ngoại rất đẹp. Chúng tôi dự định sẽ mang cả sup đi để chèo ra các đảo nổi giữa hồ tìm một nơi lí tưởng và riêng tư để có thể vui chơi và trò chuyện không bị ảnh hưởng. Mặc dù thuộc địa phận thành phố Tam Kỳ nhưng vị trí hồ nằm vùng ngoại vi cách trung tâm 10km, lí tưởng khi muốn được cách xa sự nhộn nhịp đông đúc của thành thị. Cậu e tên Trung mượn người bạn chiếc xe máy tay ga và chúng tôi cùng di chuyển trên con đường quốc lộ đã chọn( cách Đà Nẵng khoảng 75km). Đường quốc lộ dẫn vào Tam Kỳ khá đẹp với những đồi cát nắng cháy theo kiểu bán sa mạc. Chỉ có những loại cây phù hợp với loại đất cát đó mới sống được như rười,phi lao,... Chúng tôi đi từ lúc 14h30 chiều khi còn nắng gắt khá nóng cộng thêm cái nóng phả ra từ mặt đường và đồi cát trống ven đường cao tốc như làm tăng thêm tính trải nghiệm cho chuyến đi. Cậu e lái xe như tên lửa khiến nhiều phen làm tôi lật ngửa ra sau do tôi ôm sup có sức cản gió lớn😂.
Vì cậu e cứ nghĩ trên đường sẽ có cây xăng nên với 1/3 bình xăng chúng tôi chạy trên cao tốc hoài mà không có cây xăng để nạp thêm. Kết quả là hết xăng giữa đường nắng như thiêu và không có lấy một nhà dân gần đó để nhờ giúp đỡ. Lúc này chúng tôi đã đi được khoảng hơn 50km. Chúng tôi phải dắt bộ khoảng hơn 400m thì may mắn thấy một cổng chào dẫn vào một con đường nhỏ có nhà dân. Đang định cử một người đi bộ vào để xin sự giúp đỡ thì may mắn có một cô trung niên đi xe máy ngược chiều,thấy chúng tôi mang đồ đạc cồng kềnh dừng bên vệ đường thì rẽ sang hỏi chuyện. Chúng tôi cũng trình bày vấn đề và hỏi cô có cây xăng nào gần đây không vì là lần đầu tiên chúng tôi tới đây. Cô nhiệt tình bảo chúng tôi cây xăng còn xa lắm khoảng 8km nữa mới có. Cứ dắt xe ngồi đợi dưới tán cây cho mát mẻ rồi để cô đi vào trong thôn nhỏ kia mua xăng bán lẻ giúp. Chúng tôi vội vàng cảm ơn và nhìn theo bóng cô đi khuất mà thấy mừng vì không phải đẩy xe thêm 8km nữa giữa cái nóng khủng khiếp. Đợi khoảng 10 phút thấy cô quay lại với một chai xăng đựng trong chai nước ngọt 1,5 lít, cô nói trong thôn họ bán xăng lẻ ở hàng tạp hóa nên đắt hơn cây xăng. Với chúng tôi được cô giúp đỡ kịp thời đã mừng lắm rồi, gửi tiền xăng và biếu cô chút tiền cảm ơn cô và đón nhận nụ cười trên khuôn mặt sạm đen vì nắng nơi đây.

Tiếp tục lên đường tới thành phố Tam Kỳ chúng tôi đi tìm chợ để mua thực phẩm ăn tối và thêm nước uống. Tiếp đó đi tìm siêu thị để mua chai rượu Hàn quốc Soju, khi tới gần siêu thị thì lại bị lủng lốp xe, cậu e chạy xe đi sửa còn tôi gửi đồ đạc và vào siêu thị mua chút rượu và đồ khô để thưởng thức đêm nay. Lúc đó đã hơn 17h chiều, nằm ngoài dự tính của chúng tôi nên cấp tốc di chuyển trước khi trời tối. Đi theo google map tới hồ thì bị rào chắn ngang đường, hỏi bảo vệ thì không mở cửa do ảnh hưởng của covid lần trước. Chúng tôi có sup nên tìm đường khác đi vòng qua bên kia hồ mất thêm khoảng 6km di chuyển nữa. Vừa đi vừa tìm điểm có thể chạy xe máy xuống bờ hồ ở dưới.

Sau khi tìm được bãi, chúng tôi di chuyển xe xuống dưới bờ sát mép nước,chạy trên đường mòn gồ ghề của bờ lại cảm thấy như bánh xe vừa sửa xuống hơi từ từ. Nhận định có thể do người sửa xe ẩu làm không hiệu quả hoặc lốp xe đã quá mòn dễ bị lủng, chúng tôi mặc kệ ngày mai ra sao,không để những sự cố phát sinh làm ảnh hưởng chuyến đi chơi thoải mái này. Nhanh chóng chia nhau bơm sup,kiếm củi, chất đồ và củi lên sup chèo đi. 17h45p hoàng hôn đang chìm dần sau những rặng núi nhưng những quầng đỏ của hoàng hôn vẫn rực một góc trời. Thật may vì cuối tháng tư mới bắt đầu mùa hè nên mặt trời lặn trễ hơn mùa đông nên vẫn kịp cho chúng tôi đủ ánh sáng để chèo. Thực sự mà nói hồ Phú Ninh mang tới cảm nhận đầu tiên là sự rộng lớn và trùng điệp bởi những dãy đồi núi, mặt hồ gợn sóng đều thử thách chúng tôi chèo lựa theo con sóng để đỡ mất sức. Phóng tầm mắt thấy một mô đất nhỏ không có cây cối chỉ có mỗi bải cỏ nhỏ như chỏm tóc, như là phần thưởng hấp dẫn với view 360° cho điểm hạ trại. Lên khảo sát thấy bãi đất trên ngọn khá phẳng dù hơi cứng nên chúng tôi cắt một đám cỏ lót dưới đáy lều để đêm dễ ngủ. Mỗi người một việc chuẩn bị đồ aqn, dựng lều,bàn ghế dã ngoại,chăng đèn. Chúng tôi vừa ăn uống,nướng thịt và trò chuyện khi không khí mát mẻ tứ phía quanh hồ dội tới khi không có cây cối ngăn cản gió. Rượu soju nhẹ làm ấm cơ thể từ từ bên trong cân bằng với cảm giác mát mẻ bên ngoài mang lại cảm giác thật khó tả và thực sự thư giãn. Hôm đó có trăng nên bầu trời xung quanh vẫn có thể nhìn thấy mờ ảo bởi những rặng núi trước mắt. Chúng tôi đều đùa nhau cứ như thể đang ở Hạ Long Bay. Đã lâu hai chúng tôi không gặp nhau và ở một địa điểm thích hợp yên tĩnh như thế tạo nên một cuộc trò chuyện sâu sắc và giải tỏa những căng thẳng,áp lực sau những dịp lockdown nghiêm trọng.

Buổi sáng thức dậy bởi ánh sáng mặt trời sớm mai, mở cửa lều khi giờ đây mới đủ ánh sáng cho chúng tôi ngắm nhìn quang cảnh xung quanh và trước mắt. Cảm giác bình yên và đầy năng lượng đón ngày mới ở một nơi xa lạ và đẹp đẽ hẳn sẽ là những khoảnh khắc khó quên. Chúng tôi tập thể dục một chút bằng cách chèo đi khám phá khắp hồ xung quanh để tìm kiếm những điều mới mẻ. Đây là lần đầu tiên chèo sup của cả 2(vì tôi mua cách đây 3 ngày chưa kịp chèo) nên sự phấn khởi lộ rõ trên khuôn mặt cả hai. Cảm giác tự do lênh đênh trên mặt hồ gợn sóng thậ kích thích. Giờ đây chúng tôi mới nhìn rõ màu nước xanh của hồ. Màu ngọc lam xanh cuốn hút hòa cùng màu xanh lá cây của núi rừng xung quanh như một cách massage đôi mắt hữu hiệu. Dạo quanh mấy hòn đảo nổi ngắm cảnh,chụp hình vầ ăn sáng bằng bánh ngọt rồi chúng tôi quyết định về vì hồ quá rộng lớn cần thêm nhiều thời gian hơn để chèo đi hết. Và nắng cũng bắt đầu nóng khi mới 8h sáng. Thu dọn đồ đạc rồi chèo về lấy xe thì lốp xe đã xẹp không còn hơi. Đẩy xe và đồ đạc lên mặt đường, tôi ở lại trông đồ đạc và cậu e cứ chạy đi tìm nơi sửa xe mặc kệ cái lốp xe vì xác định thay luôn lốp mới. Đợi khoảng 30phút cậu e quay lại đón rồi về thẳng Đà Nẵng bằng đường khác là cao tốc Đà Nẵng- Quảng Ngãi. Về tới thành phố đã hơn 12h trưa, ăn trưa và về nhà ngủ một mạch tới chiều tối vì chạy xe đường dài mệt.

Kết thúc một chuyến đi đầy sự cố nhưng vẫn rất hài lòng khi đều tăng tính trải nghiệm và cách xử lý vấn đề thú vị. Quan trọng là đi với những người thân yêu vào những dịp tự tổ chức ngẫu hứng và đơn giản để kết nối với nhau gần gũi hơn.
