¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Worldmappin! hace unos días realice una visita a las instalaciones de la ciudad Universitaria de Caracas, el alma mater de Venezuela, la reconocidísima UCV, el recinto universitario más importante de Venezuela, fundada el 22 de diciembre de 1721 por el rey Felipe V, convirtiéndose en la institución de educación superior más antigua del país. Mientras que el proyecto de Ciudad Universitaria diseñado por el arquitecto Carlos Raúl Villanueva, se inauguró parcialmente el 2 de marzo de 1954, durante la dictadura de Marcos Pérez Jiménez, con la Plaza Cubierta, el Aula Magna y la Biblioteca Central, extendiéndose su construcción hasta 1960, llegando a considerarse esta una de las grandes creaciones de la arquitectura mundial del siglo XX.
Y es que la verdad la Ciudad Universitaria lo tiene todo, belleza, practicidad y grandeza, este espacio a formado parte fundamental en el desarrollo de la historia moderna de Venezuela, es por eso que hoy quiero compartir con ustedes algunas fotos que tome durante la visita que realice a esta casa de estudio o como dirían los UCEVISTAS “la casa que vence la sombra”.
Y aprovechar para comentarles una reflexión o una apreciación, hace unos años atrás culminada la etapa del COVID tuve la oportunidad de pasar por la Ciudad Universitaria, y me llamo mucho la atención la soledad y el silencio que recorrían sus pasillos así como el nivel de deterioro de su infraestructura, más sin embargo en esta oportunidad todo fue totalmente diferente volví a ver sus pasillos con muchos estudiantes, volví a ver una UCV viva, con profesores dando asesoría en los pizarrones ubicados en los pasillos cubiertos, jóvenes practicando deporte en las múltiples canchas, una fuerza obrera limpiando las áreas verdes y reparando las instalaciones.
Si bien es cierto Venezuela todavía está atravesando por una fuerte e innegable crisis económica y social, donde los recursos para las instituciones públicas son prácticamente nulos y donde el concepto de salario está casi extinto, con profesores que no están recibiendo un pago justo por su dedicación y entrega en la formación de la fuerza laboral e intelectual de nuestro país, pero nuestra juventud esa que se rehúsa abandonar este maravilloso país, y que renace como el ave fénix está volviendo a encender la luz de la casa que vence las sombras, porque nuestra esperanza de un país mejor es resplandeciente como el sol que me acompaño para realizar estas hermosas fotografías de una Caracas de cielo azul caribe, ese que es envidia de muchos que estando en otras latitudes y que desearían poder gozar del extraordinario clima tropical del cual nosotros disfrutamos los 365 días del año.

Greetings to everyone in the Worldmappin community! A few days ago I visited the facilities of the University City of Caracas, the alma mater of Venezuela, the renowned UCV, the most important university campus in Venezuela, founded on December 22, 1721 by King Philip V, becoming the oldest institution of higher education in the country. A few years ago, after the COVID stage, I had the opportunity to visit the University City, and I was very struck by the loneliness and silence in its corridors as well as the level of deterioration of its infrastructure, However, this time everything was totally different, I saw again its corridors with many students, I saw again a living UCV, with professors giving advice on the blackboards located in the covered corridors, young people practicing sports in the multiple courts, a workforce cleaning the green areas and repairing the facilities.
While it is true that Venezuela is still going through a strong and undeniable economic and social crisis, where the resources for public institutions are practically nil and where the concept of salary is almost extinct, with teachers who are not receiving a fair payment for their dedication and dedication in the formation of the labor and intellectual force of our country, but our youth that refuses to leave this wonderful country, and that is reborn like a phoenix, is turning on the light of the house that overcomes the shadows, because our hope for a better country is shining like the sun that accompanies me to realize these goals, and that is reborn as the phoenix is rekindling the light of the house that overcomes the shadows, because our hope for a better country is resplendent as the sun that accompanied me to make these beautiful photographs of a Caracas with a Caribbean blue sky, that which is the envy of many who are in other latitudes and who wish they could enjoy the extraordinary tropical climate that we enjoy 365 days a year.
