Tafí del Valle is a beautiful valley located in the province of Tucumán, in Argentina at 2014 meters above sea level.
Tafí del Valle es un hermoso valle ubicado en la provincia de Tucumán, en Argentina a 2014 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
Due to its altitude, the predominant climate is temperate, quite cloudy and foggy, and snow is common in winter. A part of the valley has a meadow ecosystem and another part is more arid, which can be appreciated very well in a panoramic point of view called El Infiernillo, because it is very high, at 3,042 meters above sea level and joins Tafi del Valley with Los Valles Calchaquíes.
Por la altitud que tiene, el clima predominante es le templado, bastante nublado y con neblinas, y es común en invierno que nieve. Una parte del valle tienen un ecosistema de pradera y otra parte es más árido, cosa que se puede apreciar muy bien en un punto de vista panorámico llamado El Infiernillo, porque está muy alto, a 3042 metros sobre el nivel del mar y une Tafi del Valle con Los Valles Calchaquíes.
One of the main attractions of the tourist area of Tafí are its menhirs (from the Celtic men: 'stone', hir: 'long'). These are monoliths carved by the local indigenous people of the Tafí culture. At first, they were scattered throughout the valley but, during the de facto government of Antonio Domingo Bussi, they were all gathered in the Parque de los Menhires near the town of El Mollar, with the excuse of preserving their integrity and avoid damage caused by tourists who visit them. In these menhirs we can find different engravings.
Uno de los principales atractivos de la zona turística de Tafí son sus menhires (del celta men: 'piedra', hir: 'larga'). Se trata de monolitos tallados por los indígenas locales de la cultura Tafí. En un principio, se encontraban esparcidos por todo el valle pero, durante el gobierno de facto de Antonio Domingo Bussi, se los reunió a todos en el Parque de los Menhires cercano a la localidad de El Mollar, con la excusa de preservar su integridad y evitar daños ocasionados por parte de los turistas que los visitan. En dichos menhires podemos encontrar diferentes grabados.
We can also find Lake La Angostura or El Mollar, close to Los Menhires Park and the town of El Mollar.
También podemos encontrar el Lago la Angostura o El Mollar, próximo al Parque de Los Menhires y a la localidad de el Mollar.
There is a lot to go through the Tafí, the entrance from the city of San Miguel de Tucumán is done through the Tucuman jungle, a perfectly paved but extremely six-hour road .... unmissable!
Hay mucho para recorrer el Tafí, el ingreso desde la ciudad de San Miguel de Tucumán se realiza atravesando la selva Tucumana, un camino perfectamente asfaltado pero extremadamente sixagueante.... imperdible!
If you ever visit the North of Argentina, be sure to visit Tafí del Valle, it is worth it.
