Hello everyone! For a LONG time, and yes in capital letters because for several years, I have dreamed of going to Greece and it has come true, specifically on this trip through Greece I visited Santorini and Athens, but today I came to show you part of what our visit in the spectacular island of Santorini, because yes, it really is spectacular and what follows that word. We started our day wanting to visit Fira (the capital) but first we needed to eat something and what better than trying the typical Gyros of Greece and without a doubt, we found the place where they prepare it best but we go there.
Salimos del hotel el cual está ubicado en Kamari, pero fuimos hasta el centro para conseguir este restaurante y luego ir a la parada de autobuses donde tomaremos el respectivo bus que se dirige hasta Fira. Era un día bastante soleado (como todos los días que estuvimos allí) y en el centro podíamos observar a la gente vestida con ropa suelta o cómoda para un día caluroso, además también venta de sombreros, bolsos, vestidos o cosas con ojos turcos lo cual es muy típico aquí.
We left the hotel which is located in Kamari, but we went to the center to find this restaurant and then go to the bus stop where we will take the respective bus that goes to Fira. It was a fairly sunny day (like every day we were there) and in the center we could see people dressed in loose or comfortable clothes for a hot day, as well as selling hats, bags, dresses or things with Turkish eyes which It's very typical here.
Llegamos hasta el restaurante, el cual encontramos a través de google, y de verdad que luego de haber probado el Gyros en varios sitios, nos quedamos con este y por supuesto siempre volvíamos por él. Y es que mírenlo ustedes mismos, realmente se me hace la agua la boca solo de ver la foto y quiero regresar a Santorini solo para comer otro delicioso Gyros en el restaurante Elías Grill dónde además es mucho más barato que en otros sitios, tan solo 4.20 euros por cada Gyros.
We got to the restaurant, which we found through google, and the truth is that after having tried the Gyros in several places, we stayed with this one and of course we always came back for it. And you have to look at it for yourselves, it really makes my mouth water just from seeing the photo and I want to return to Santorini just to eat another delicious Gyros at the Elías Grill restaurant where it is also much cheaper than in other places, only 4.20 euros for each Gyros.
Ahora sí con la barriga llena, ya podíamos ir hasta la parada de autobuses que además queda muy cerca de este lugar y nisiquiera tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo porque ya venía uno cerca. Una vez montados en el autobús, pagamos el ticket a 1.60 euros cada uno, y eran unos cuantos minutos para llegar hasta Fira pero era muy cómodo porque estos autobuses tienen aire acondicionado y realmente era un día muy caluroso, así que fue un viaje agradable.
Now with a full belly, we could go to the bus stop, which is also very close to this place and we didn't even have to wait long because one was already nearby. Once on the bus, we paid the ticket at 1.60 euros each, and it was a few minutes to get to Fira but it was very comfortable because these buses have air conditioning and it was really a very hot day, so it was a nice trip.
Llegamos a Fira específicamente a la parada de autobuses, y solo teníamos que caminar unos pocos pasos para ver lo que ven abajo, calles de piedras, muchos restaurantes y por supuesto muchos turistas pero nosotros estábamos buscando la vista con pequeñas y hermosas casas blancas pero primero necesitábamos un baño y cerca de la parada conseguimos uno el cual fue un baño muy extraño porque el inodoro estaba en el piso, así que si no están acostumbrados como yo, les recomiendo mejor ir al baño de algún restaurante jajaja dónde hay inodoros normales jajaja.
We arrived in Fira specifically at the bus stop, and we only had to walk a few steps to see what they see below, stone streets, many restaurants and of course many tourists but we were looking for the view with small beautiful white houses but first we needed a bathroom and near the stop we got one which was a very strange bathroom because the toilet was on the floor, so if you are not used to it like me, I recommend you better go to the bathroom of a restaurant hahaha where there are normal toilets hahaha.
Y esto es Fira, caminos pequeños, calles de piedras, venta de ropas y accesorios (por cierto en una de ellas conseguí un vestido espectacular por un muy buen precio), muchos restaurantes, por supuesto las espectaculares casas blancas que les mencioné antes y la hermosa vista al mar la cuál queríamos disfrutar mientras tomábamos una cerveza muy fría porque realmente estaba haciendo mucho calor, y conseguimos el adecuado pero realmente hay otros restaurantes también con esta vista genial.
And this is Fira, small roads, stone streets, clothing and accessories sales (by the way, in one of them I got a spectacular dress for a very good price), many restaurants, of course the spectacular white houses that I mentioned before and the beautiful sea view which we wanted to enjoy while having a very cold beer because it was really hot, and we got the right one but really there are other restaurants too with this great view.
Tuvimos que elegir una mesa donde el sol no estuviese demasiado, pero aún así podíamos observar el mar espectacular. El menú aquí y en todos los sitios por supuesto en el idioma griego y en inglés, y una de las cervezas que me gustó mucho en Grecia fue esta llamada Alfa así que también se las recomiendo. Pero ahora, estábamos cansados y luego de terminar la cerveza regresamos a la parada de autobuses para volver a casa.
We had to choose a table where the sun was not too hot, but we could still see the spectacular sea. The menu here and everywhere is of course in the Greek language and in English, and one of the beers that I really liked in Greece was this one called Alfa, so I also recommend it to you. But now, we were tired and after finishing the beer we went back to the bus stop to go home.
Aquí en esta parada también puedes tomar el bus a Oía (otro lugar espectacular que visitamos en Santorini) pero se los mostraré en el próximo post además también hacia otros sitios y como dije no esperas demasiado porque los autobuses siempre están saliendo debido a que hay muchos turistas. Por ahora esto es todo porque ya necesitábamos descansar luego de caminar bastante por aquí por Fira y en Kamari para regresar a casa, espero que les haya gustado. Saludos!
