Era el año 2015 y junto a unos grandes amigos planeamos uno de los viajes más geniales que he hecho como parte grupo. Un equipo que armamos con puras amistades que vinieron hasta del interior del país para irnos todos juntos a pasar una semana en uno de los destinos turísticos más visitados por extranjeros, pero también muy frecuentado por mis connacionales, un paraíso llamado Choroni.
It was 2015 and together with some great friends we planned one of the coolest trips I've done as part of a group. A team that we put together with pure friends who came even from the interior of the country to go all together to spend a week in one of the most visited tourist destinations by foreigners, but also very frequented by my fellow countrymen, a paradise called Choroni.
La ocasión tenía dos objetivos, uno descansar por unos días de la faena de los ensayos y otra era celebrar la relación de dos grandes amigas a las cuales aún hoy, quiero como hermanas. Y qué mejor que hacerlo en una ceremonia auspiciada por nosotros mismos para celebrar su amor y cariño. El lugar y día para la celebración fue elegido antes de siquiera llegar.
The occasion had two objectives, one was to rest for a few days from the work of the rehearsals and the other was to celebrate the relationship of two great friends whom I still love as sisters. And what better than to do it in a ceremony sponsored by ourselves to celebrate their love and affection. The place and day for the celebration was chosen before we even arrived.
Rentamos una casa a las afueras del pueblo de Choroni, una casa vieja muy espaciosa que tenía dos niveles. Una casa interesante, con un rio en la parte posterior de la casa desde el que podías llegar desde la planta baja. Una ganga para esa época, no sé cuánto seria el costo en estos momentos, pero sería interesante preguntarlo. ¿Alguien sabrá?
We rented a house on the outskirts of the village of Choroni, a very spacious old house that had two levels. An interesting house, with a river at the back of the house that you could reach from the first floor. A bargain for that time, I don't know how much the cost would be nowadays, but it would be interesting to ask. anyone know?
El hecho es que llegamos al estado Aragua para tomar una “Guagua” -Así llaman a los autobuses que van a Choroni- a nuestro destino. Uno kilómetros antes de llegar hubo un enorme accidente más adelante de donde estábamos y sorpresa, el paso estaba restringido, ya que los que han ido conocen y saben que las vías que van por el parque Henri Pittier son súper estrechas. Tuvimos que bajarnos con todo nuestro equipaje y caminar por aproximadamente unos 40 minutos hasta que otro bus que iba de regreso nos terminó de dejar en la casa rentada. Una pequeña aventura inesperada ya que teníamos mucho equipaje para la semana que pasaríamos.
The fact is that we arrived in Aragua state to take a "Guagua" -that's what they call the buses going to Choroni- to our destination. One kilometer before arriving there was a huge accident ahead of where we were and surprise, the passage was restricted, as those who have gone know and know that the roads that go along the Henri Pittier park are super narrow. We had to get off with all our luggage and walk for about 40 minutes until another bus on the way back dropped us off at the rented house. An unexpected little adventure as we had a lot of luggage for the week we would be spending.
Como es de esperar, nos acomodamos, pusimos todo en orden y pa´ la playa!
As expected, we settled in, put everything in order and went to the beach!
La boda la celebramos si no mal recuerdo el 3er día desde nuestra llegada. El lugar fue un mirador hermoso llamado "El Cristo”, por una estatua de un cristo redentor que allí se encuentra. Un sitio con una vista privilegiada, un paraíso desde donde puedes ver el horizonte y sentir toda la energía del caribe. El que sería el ministro fue mi amigo Blas, yo se suponía que era el que era un tipo de ministro y testigo/organizador, y todos los presentes tenían una designación graciosa que nos dimos esos días.
The wedding took place if I remember correctly on the 3rd day after our arrival. The place was a beautiful viewpoint called "El Cristo", after a statue of a Christ the Redeemer that is located there. A place with a privileged view, a paradise from where you can see the horizon and feel all the energy of the Caribbean. The one who would be the minister was my friend Blas, I was supposed to be the one who was a kind of minister and witness/organizer, and everyone present had a funny designation that we gave each other those days.
Una nota curiosa es que todos los que fuimos éramos músicos, pero ninguno nos llevamos instrumentos. Y es aquí donde paso algo mágico, uno de los turistas que estaban allí en ese momento curioseando esa “ceremonia” que hacíamos comenzó a cantar un hermoso y muy afinado Ave María de Schubert. ¿Quién se lo podía esperar? Sobre todo porque el hombre estaba bien pasado en licor jeje.
A curious note is that all of us who went were musicians, but none of us took instruments with us. And this is where something magical happened, one of the tourists who were there at that moment curious about this "ceremony" we were doing began to sing a beautiful and very tuneful Ave Maria by Schubert. Who could have expected it? Especially because the man was well over liquor hehe.
Pero aun así, fue hermoso porque luego como es costumbre, todos firmamos uno de los muros que hay allí y la sorpresa fue que el mismo cantante inesperado también les dedico y dibujo un hermoso ángel a mis amigas… Dudo que siguiera allí mucho tiempo después. Pero la fotografía que tome ese día es muestra de la magia de ese momento.
But still, it was beautiful because then as usual, we all signed one of the walls there and the surprise was that the same unexpected singer also dedicated and drew a beautiful angel to my friends ... I doubt it would still be there long after. But the picture I took that day is a sample of the magic of that moment.
Una ceremonia donde las lágrimas, las risas, la amistad y el infinito mar caribe eran nuestros testigos de una tarde mágica, eso sin contar con el montón de presentes muy ebrios que aplaudieron y silbaron al terminar la ceremonia. Un bello recuerdo que hasta hoy en día llevo en mi corazón como una de las semanas que sin dudas marcaron mi veintena.
A ceremony where tears, laughter, friendship and the infinite Caribbean Sea were our witnesses of a magical afternoon, not to mention the bunch of very drunk people who applauded and whistled at the end of the ceremony. A beautiful memory that to this day I carry in my heart as one of the weeks that undoubtedly marked my twenties.
Sin dudas una semana mágica donde como siempre aprendí a apreciar más las maravillas de Venezuela. Y choroni, como no mencionar sus playas, su gente, el cacao del pueblo de Chuao. Allí pude respirar tranquilo y en el año 2014 hice un viaje del que luego les hablare, un viaje que cambio mi vida, en uno de esos días dije algo que aun mantengo: “Muchachos, sin dudarlo, por primera vez en mi vida puedo decir que estoy feliz”.
Undoubtedly a magical week where as always I learned to appreciate more the wonders of Venezuela. And Choroni, how not to mention its beaches, its people, the cocoa of the town of Chuao. There I could breathe easy and in 2014 I made a trip that I will tell you about later, a trip that changed my life, in one of those days I said something that I still keep: "Guys, without hesitation, for the first time in my life I can say that I am happy".
