My dear #Hivetravels, today I want to treat you to a different kind of night out in Cancun, Mexico.
This city does not rest (like any tourist paradise) so the plans are adapted to any need and taste. Besides, we can let ourselves be surprised by these wonders.
For this and more,
Let's have a night of Mexican wrestling.
Mis queridos #Hivetravels hoy les quiero regalar una noche diferente en la ciudad turística de Cancún en México. Está ciudad no descansa (como cualquier paraíso turístico) así que los planes se adaptan a cualquier necesidad y gusto. Además, podemos dejarnos sorprender por estas maravillas. Por esto y más, Tengamos una noche de lucha libre mexicana.
Mexico is a wonderful country. And not because I love the country, but because the Mexicans have managed to make their culture and traditions a place where the visitor feels part of them.
The drink par excellence that is tequila, is accompanied by its diverse gastronomy that invites even the bravest to try its spicy flavour.
Music, catrinas, alebrijes, the dark virgin and our beloved Frida! These are characteristic signs that can be found all over Mexico. And if I go on too long, I won't tell you about my experience at the wrestling night.
México es un país maravilloso. Y no porque me encanta ese país, sino porque los mexicanos han logrado hacer de su cultura y tradiciones, un espacio donde el visitante se siente parte de ellos. La bebida por excelencia que es el tequila, viene acompañado de su diversa gastronomía que invita hasta los más valientes a probar de su picante. La música, catrinas, alebrijes, la virgen morena y ¡Nuestra amada Frida! Son signos característicos que se pueden encontrar en todo México. Y si sigo extendiéndome, no les voy a contar de mi experiencia en la noche de lucha libre.
What I could see is that, from the very beginning, it's a party:
Lights, entertainers and music are the preamble for the entrance of the wrestlers.
The wrestlers come with their masks on. This is characteristic of the wrestling in the USA, for example, where the wrestlers show their faces.
The wrestlers recognise the ring and by their names you know who is the good guy and who is the bad guy.
The good guy is the one who is like the hero; the bad guy is the one who cheats to win.
Lo que pude captar es que, desde que inicia es una fiesta: Luces, animadores y música son el preámbulo para la entrada de los luchadores. Ellos, vienen identificados pero con sus máscaras. Esto es algo característico que por ejemplo en la lucha de EEUU si muestran sus rostros. Los luchadores reconocen el cuadrilátero y por sus nombres se sabe quién es el bueno y quién es el malo. El bueno es aquel que es como el héroe; el malo es aquel que hace artimañas para ganar con trampas.
And the fight begins!// ¡Y comienza la pelea!
There are several rounds. And here I stop because many people say it's a lie. Well, no! I didn't see any lies: I saw punches, kicks and fists. The fighters climbed on the ropes and threw themselves from there. What an adrenaline rush!
I saw the fighters complaining, crawling, crawling out of the ring and the bad guys, cheating to win.
Here the audience is already involved, insulting, belittling the bad guys and encouraging the good guys.
Son varios round. Y aquí me detengo porque mucha gente dice que es mentira. Pues ¡No! Yo no Vi nada de mentira: yo Vi golpes, ví patadas y puños. Los luchadores se montaba en las cuerdas y de allí se tiraban ¡Cuánta adrenalina la que se vive! Vi a los luchadores quejándose, arrastrándose, saliendo del cuadrilátero y los malos, haciendo sus trampas para ganar. Aquí el público ya se involucra insultando, menospreciado a los malos y dando ánimos a los buenos.
Although it came out dark, that's me heh,heh// Aunque salió oscura, esa soy yo je,je.
And as everything has an end, there was a winner.... I don't remember his name heh,heh.
The important thing is that we had a lot of fun, we shouted, we rejoiced and we suffered with the falls and blows that were also given, so much suffering!
A show that can be enjoyed as a family, because in Mexico it is recognised as intangible heritage and there is a great history and legacy of renowned wrestlers.

Y como todo tiene su final, hubo un ganador.... Que no recuerdo su nombre je,je. Lo importante es que nos divertimos muchísimo, gritamos, nos alegramos y sufrimos con las caídas y golpes que se dieron también ¡Cuánto sufrimiento! Un espectáculo que se puede disfrutar en familia, ya que en México es reconocido como patrimonio intangible y existe una gran historia y legado por parte de luchadores de renombre. Al final, nos permitieron subir al cuadrilátero y tomar algunas fotos del recuerdo 👇👇👇👇

Before the pandemic I have a local sports venue for Wrestling sports not far from where I live. Shows used to be monthly but have yet to resume.
