Almost a week ago I was visiting a city near where I live. I went to this city, Barquisimeto, because I was invited to the Bararida Zoo, a place I had not been to for quite some time.
They told me that they had brought other animals and that they had recovered some areas, so I did not hesitate to accept the invitation and I got ready to go. Join me in this post where I will show you, through pictures, how was my visit to such a beautiful place.

Hace casi una semana estuve de visita a una ciudad cercana a donde vivo. Fuí a esta ciudad, Barquisimeto, porque me invitaron al Parque Zoológico Bararida, un lugar al que no iba desde hace bastante tiempo.
Me dijeron que habían traído otros animales y que habían recuperado algunas áreas, así que no dudé en aceptar la invitación y me alisté para ir. Acompañenme en esta publicación en donde les mostraré, a través de fotografías, cómo estuvo mi visita a tan bonito lugar.
Before going to the zoo, I met two great hivers, filoriologo and his wife zullyscott. They invited me to their house to give me some goodies they brought from a crypto event where hive was present.
It was already a little over noon when I said goodbye to these hivers and headed to a shopping mall called Arca, where I would meet the lady who invited me to the Zoo. From there we took a bus and arrived at the park.
Although it didn't take us long, we realized that we should have stayed at another stop, because we practically entered the park through the back; that is, through the parking lot, or the exit. In spite of this, we found some really beautiful murals, which have nothing to envy to the murals at the entrance:
Antes de ir al zoológico, me encontré con dos hivers geniales, filoriologo y su esposa zullyscott. Ellos me invitaron a su casa para entregarme unos regalitos que trajeron de un evento cripto en donde hive estuvo presente.
Ya era poco más me medio día cuando me despedí de estos hivers y tomé rumbo a un centro comercial llamado Arca, donde me vería con la señorita que me invitó al Zoológico. De allí tomamos un bus y llegamos al parque.
A pesar de que no tardamos mucho, sí nos dimos cuenta que debimos habernos quedado en otra parada, porque prácticamente entramos al parque por la parte de atrás; es decir, por el estacionamiento, o la salida. A pesar de esto, nos encontramos con unos murales realmente hermosos, que no tienen nada que envidiar a los murales que hay en la entrada:
First animal
Once we entered the park, we met the first animal of the tour. It was a surprise, I must say, but we met a small wild cat that came out to meet us and followed us for a while.
I imagine that being in a place that is frequented by so many people, he is used to seeing many tourists. The kitten did not leave our side for a few minutes.
Primer animal
Una vez que entramos al parque, nos encontramos con el primer animal del recorrido. Fue una sorpresa, debo decirlo, pero nos encontramos con un pequeño gato salvaje que salió a nuestro encuentro y nos siguió por un rato.
Imagino que al encontrarse en un lugar que es frecuentado por tantas personas, está acostumbrado a ver muchos turistas. El gatito no se despegó de nosotros por unos minutos.

Time to eat
By the time we got to the park, I was getting hungry. The menu for lunch was a couple of pizzas, courtesy of my companion.
I must say that they were very tasty, but it wasn't so much how tasty they were, but the atmosphere where we sat for lunch and the company itself. To start the tour, this lunch was very good.
Besides, not only we ate, but also the wild kitten that accompanied us to that part of the park. Another very similar one also appeared, but I didn't take pictures of it.
Hora de comer
Por la hora a la que llegamos al parque, ya estaba haciendo hambre. El menú para el almuerzo fue un par de pizzas, cortesía de mi acompañante.
Debo decir que estaban muy ricas, pero no eran tanto lo rica que estaban, sino el ambiente donde nos sentamos a almorzar y la propia compañía en sí. Para comenzar el recorrido, este almuerzo estuvo muy bien.
Además, no solo comimos nosotros, sino también el gatito salvaje que nos acompañó hasta esa parte del parque. También apareció otro muy parecido, pero a ese ya no le tomé fotos.

Farm animals
Now we have arrived at a small farm, so to speak. Here they had some animals that we could not call "wild", but rather domestic animals.
They had a couple of little pigs, not very big, but very fat and cute. There were also a few ducks, chickens, a donkey and I think a pony, but it was too far away to be photographed.
Animales de granja
Ahora sí llegamos a una pequeña granja, por llamarlo de alguna manera. Aquí tenían algunos animales que no podemos catalogar como "salvajes", sino mas bien animales domésticos.
Tenían un par de cerditos no muy grandes, pero bien gorditos y bonitos. También había unos cuantos patos, gallinas, un burrito y creo que un poni, pero este no se dejó tomar fotografías, estaba muy lejos.

The lagoon
We continued our tour and arrived at the huge lagoon of the park. This place seems to be one of my favorites because you could easily stay there all day enjoying the scenery, taking pictures, eating, laughing, playing and having a good time.
It is worth mentioning that in this lagoon there are many marine animals, from various fish to turtles of different sizes. I must confess that I didn't get too close to the lagoon with my phone, as I recently had the bad experience of dropping my phone on the beach, so I didn't want to take any chances....
On the other hand, there were other people who went up in boats and sailed for a while in the lagoon, that will be for a next visit....
La laguna
Continuámos el recorrido y llegamos a la enorme laguna del parque. Este lugar me parece uno de mis favoritos ya que tranquilamente uno podría estar allí todo el día disfrutando del paisaje, tomarse fotos, comer, reir, jugar y en definitiva pasarla bien.
Cabe destacar que en esta laguna hay muchos animales marinos, desde peces variados hasta tortugas de diversos tamaños. Debo confesar que no me acerqué mucho a la laguna con el teléfono, ya que hace poco tuve la mala experiencia de dejar caer mi teléfono a la playa, así que no quería correr ningún riesgo...
Por otra parte, sí habían otras personas que subieron en lanchas y navegaron por un rato en la laguna, eso será para una próxima visita...

Big cats
As soon as we left the lagoon and continued our tour of the park, something that caught our attention was the strange sounds that one of the park's felines, in this case the jaguar, was making.
Grandes felinos
Apenas nos alejamos de la laguna y continuamos el recorrido por el parque, algo que llamó nuestra atención fueron los extraños sonidos que estaba haciendo uno de los felinos del parque, en este caso el jaguar.
On my last visit, I remember that I did not have the opportunity to see this feline up close; in fact, I remember that he was hiding in a small cave that he had in his habitat.
Luckily, on this occasion I did get to see it and I really loved being there when it was so active. Because of all the other big cats that were around, he was the one that did the most things.
Maybe he was hungry, I don't know, but all the others were just lying around, not doing much.
En mi última visita, recuerdo que no tuve la oportunidad de ver a este felino de cerca; de hecho, recuerdo que estaba oculto en una pequeña cueva que tenía en su hábitad.
Por suerte, en esta ocasión sí logré verlo y la verdad que me encantó estar allí cuando estaba tan activo. Porque de todos los otros grandes felinos que estaban por allí, era el que más hacía cosas.
Quizás tenía hambre, no lo sé, pero todos los demás estaban acostados, sin hacer demasiado.

See, for example, some pictures I took of the tigers that were there.
They were not as active as the jaguar, they were just lying somewhere in the habitat sleeping. I remember one of them raised its head because of the noises the jaguar was making, but not much less.
They were just lying there, sleeping. I guess that is the only thing they can do, considering that they are enclosed. That's when we realize that they are animals that are not made for confinement, but to roam the jungle and, ultimately, to be free.
Vean, por ejemplo, unas fotografáis que tomé de los tigres que había.
No estaba tan activo como el jaguar, solo estaban echados en algun lugar del hábitad durmiendo. Recuerdo que uno de ellos levantó la cabeza a causa de los ruidos que hacía el jaguar, pero poco menos.
Simplemente estaban allí, durmiendo. Supongo que es lo único que pueden hacer, visto y considerando que estan encerrados. Ahí nos damos cuenta de que son animales que no estan hechos para el encierro, sino para recorrer selvas y, en definitiva, ser libres.

Another one that was also not quite active was the lion. He was awake and also making noises like the jaguar, but he did not get up from his spot at any time.
Still, he was in a visible enough place to take a couple of pictures of him. I couldn't take any closer pictures of it but it did what it could. Also, I realized that my phone doesn't take pictures very well at such great distances, it's better at capturing close objects.
Otro que tampoco estaba del todo activo era el león. Sí estaba despierto y también hacía ruidos como los del jaguar, pero no se levantó de su lugar en ningún momento.
A pesar de todo, estaba en un lugar lo suficientemente visible como para tomarle un par de fotografías. No pude tomarle fotos más de cerca pero se hizo lo que se pudo. Además, me di cuenta que mi teléfono no toma muy bien las fotos a distancias tan grandes, es mejor capturando objetos cercanos.

Primates
In an area not too far away from the felines, we find the primates or monkeys. I don't know if the word primate is accurate to describe all these animals, but I'll call them that until someone corrects me.

En un área no muy lejana de los felinos, nos encontramos con los primates o monos. No sé si la palabra primate es acertada para describir a todos estos animales, pero los llamaré así hasta que alguien me corrija.
The first ones we met were these beautiful monkeys, called Capuchin Carasucia. I suppose that in other countries they will have other names, but here they are called this way.
We stayed a long time observing them, seeing the characteristic and similar features they have with humans. Some of them had their hand out of the fence, as if they were begging for food.
They were very cute, but one of them caught my attention because it looked from a distance with a desire to go there, with the limitation of not being able to do so because it was enclosed.
Los primeros que nos encontramos fueron a estos monos tan bonitos, llamados Capuchino Carasucia. Supongo que en otros países tendrán otros nombres, pero aquí se llaman así.
Nos quedamos un buen rato observándolos, viendo los rasgos tan característicos y similares que tienen con los humanos. Algunos sacaban la mano de la reja, como si estuviesen pidiendo comida.
Eran muy bonitos, pero uno de ellos me llamó la atención porque veía a la distancia con un deseo de querir ir hasta allá, con la limitante de no poder hacerlo por estar encerrado.

Not far away, we were greeted in his habitat by a small Baboon. This one is very characteristic for having a very peculiar shaped butt. I did not take pictures of this but I did take pictures of the animal as it sat in front of us.
Again, you can see the similarities they have with us humans. In their eyes you see even more marked similarities, and even certain behaviors that one normally sees in people.
No muy lejos, nos recibió en su hábitad un pequeño Babuino. Este es muy característico por tener un trasero de forma muy peculiar. No tomé fotos de esto pero sí del animal cuando se sentó delante de nosotros.
Nuevamente, se aprecian las similitudes que tienen con nosotros, los humanos. En sus ojos se ven aún más marcadas las similitudes, e incluso ciertos comportamientos que uno normalmente ve en las personas.
This one was quiet for the short time he was in front of us, but he did let out a couple of yelps shortly before we retreated.
Este estuvo tranquilo durante el poco rato que estuvo delante de nosotros, pero sí lanzó un par de gritos poco antes de que nos retiráramos.

A visit to the chimpanzee habitat was a must. Although the chimpanzee had a fairly large cage, there was a perimeter that prevented us from getting too close. However, the chimpanzee came down to show himself and greet us.
On more than one occasion he stuck his hand out through the fence, trying to ask us for something to eat. I guess people throw food at him, even though there are signs prohibiting throwing food at animals.
No podía faltar la visita al hábitad del chimpancé. Aunque este tenía una jaula bastante grande, había un perímetro que nos impedía acercanos demasiado. Sin embargo, el chimpancé bajó a mostrarse y a saludarnos.
En más de una ocasión sacó la mano por la reja, intentando pedirnos algo de comer. Supongo que las personas le lanzan comida, a pesar de que hay carteles que prohíben lanzar comida a los animales.

The last primates we saw on the tour were these little lemur-like ones. I don't really remember which monkeys they were, but they were all very friendly and, according to my companion, they do things to get people to throw food at them.
In fact, when we were in front of their habitat, they were quiet. But suddenly we opened a package of knick-knacks and then all the monkeys got up and stood at the edge of the lagoon surrounding them. They started running around, doing things with their hands and little else, because we didn't throw them anything to eat, obeying the signs.
Even so, they stayed there for quite a while, long enough to take a couple of pictures.
Los últimos primates que vimos en el recorrido fueron estos pequeños parecidos a lémures. La verdad no recuerdo qué monos eran, pero todos eran muy simpáticos y, según mi acompañante, hacen cosas para que las personas le lancen comida.
De hecho, cuando estabamos frente a su hábitad, estaban tranquilos. Pero de repente abrimos un paquete de chucherías y entonces todos los monos se levantaron y se colocaron a orillas de la laguna que los rodeaba. Empezaron a correr, a hacer cosas con las manos y poco más, porque no les arrojamos nada de comer, obedeciendo a los carteles.
Aún así, se quedaron allí por un buen tiempo, el suficiente para lograr tamarles un par de fotos.

Caimans
In this part of the tour we came across the habitat of the large reptiles, specifically the orinoco caiman.
I must confess that I was quite excited to see this animal, because I had never seen such an animal up close in my life.
On my last visit they were all hidden among the plants and the swamp; however, on this visit I was able to see one outside and it was really impressive to see it like that. I was able to take a picture of it and stayed there for a while, watching such a huge specimen.
In the background was one, but as you can see in the photos, only this one was outside.
Caimanes
En esta parte del recorrido nos encontramos con el hábitad de los grandes reptiles, específicamente el caimán del orinoco.
Debo confesar que estaba bastante emocionado por ver a este animal, porque nunca en mi vida había visto de cerca un animal así.
En mi última visita estaban todos escondidos entre las plantas y el pantano; sin embargo, en esta pude ver uno fuera y fue realmente impresionante verlo así. Pude tomarle una foto y allí me quedé por un rato, viendo a tan enorme ejemplar.
Al fondo estaba uno, pero como pueven ver en las fotos, solo este estaba afuera.

Birds
I must admit that this part of the tour made me a little sad. Ever since I was little I have considered that birds are not animals that are meant to be cooped up.
Imagine having the ability to fly, but not being allowed to. How would you feel?
Aves
Debo admitir que esta parte del recorrido me causó un poco de tristeza. Desde pequeño he considerado que las aves no son animales que esten hechos para estar encerrados.
Imagínate que tengas la capacidad de volar, pero que no te dejen hacerlo. ¿Cómo te sentirías?
That got me thinking about how these birds must be, that can fly but can't fly. Here are pictures of some of them. It made me feel a little sorry for such beautiful animals, which would be very difficult to see under normal circumstances.
Eso me hizo pensar en cómo deben de estar estas aves, que pueden volar y al mismo tiempo no pueden hacerlo. Aquí estan las fotografías de algunas. Me hizo sentir un poco de pena por tan bonitos animales, los cuales sería muy difícil ver en circunstancias normales.

In another area of the park there were several flamingos. We couldn't get too close, but from where we were we could see them perfectly, even though in the photos they seem to be a bit far away.
En otra área del parque habían varios flamencos. No podíamos acercarnos demasiado, pero desde donde estábamos se veían perfectamente, a pesar de que en las fotos parezcan estar un poco lejos.
At this point I should mention that I thought it was very cute that a group of rather colorful looking ducks approached us. They were in the distance, but when they saw us they came over to browse.
I guess some tourists ignore the signs and feed these little birds, so they came over to see if they could get something to eat from us, but to their bad luck we had already eaten everything at this point in the tour. Just as they came, they left...
En este punto debo mencionar que me pareció muy bonito que un grupo de patos de apariencia bastante colorida se acercaron a nosotros. Estaban a lo lejos, pero cuando nos vieron se acercaron a curiosear.
Imagino que algunos turistas ignoran lo de los letreros y les dan de comer a estas pequeñas aves, así que se acercaron a ver si lograban sacarnos algo de comer, pero para su mala suerte ya nos habíamos comido todo en este punto del recorrido. Así como llegaron, se fueron...
Finally we arrived at a huge cage with the most beautiful birds in the park, from macaws to a pair of peacocks.
We stayed a while watching these birds because they are certainly very beautiful. I was looking for a peacock feather in the surroundings, but did not find any. Despite this, the photos remain for the memory.
Finalmente llegamos a una jaula enorme en donde estaban las aves más hermosas de todo el parque, desde guacamayas hasta una pareja de pavoreal.
Nos quedamos un rato observando a estas aves porque ciertamente son muy bonitas. Estuve buscando una pluma de pavo real en los alrededores, pero no encontré ninguna. A pesar de esto, quedan las fotos para el recuerdo.

Other animals
Throughout the tour we met animals that I don't know how to categorize. I guess they are mammals but I will briefly show you some of them.
Of the zebra, for example, I can't show you too much, because it was too far away and I couldn't take pictures of it.

A lo largo del recorrido nos encontramos con animales que no sé cómo catalogar. Supongo que son mamíferos pero les voy a mostrar brevemente a algunos.
De la cebra, por ejemplo, no puedo mostrarles demasiado, porque estaba muy lejos y no pude tomarle fotos.

The one I couldn't take a decent picture of either was the hippopotamus. This is a new species at the zoo and it is great to see this type of animal.
Unfortunately, many of them were in the lagoon and could not be seen. But there they were, if you look closely at the second photo, there they are, even if it doesn't look like it.
Al que tampoco pude tomarle una foto decente fue al hipopótamo. Esta es una nueva especie que hay en el zoológico y es genial poder ver a este tipo de animales.
Lamentablemente, muchos estaban en la laguna y no de dejaron ver. Pero allí estaban, si se fijan bien en la segunda foto, ahí estan, aunque no parezca.

Luckily, there was one that was desperately trying to escape, biting the metal grille that separated him from the outside. Although there were other protective bars, it is interesting to see how it tried again and again to move the bar to get out.
Again we see that no one, including animals, likes to be locked up.
Por suerte, había uno que estaba intentando desesperadamente escapar, mordiendo la reja de metal que lo separaba del exterior. Aunque había otras rejas de protección, es interesante ver cómo intentaba una y otra vez mover la reja para salir.
Nuevamente vemos que a nadie, incluyendo a los animales, les gusta estar encerrados.
Near the end of the tour we barely caught a glimpse of these three water buffalo. We had not seen them at first, but when we caught sight of them we approached and there they were, their heads barely out of the water. This must be refreshing for them, even though the day was rainy and quite cold.
Casi casi al final del recorrido apenas alcanzamos a ver a estos tres búfalos de agua. No los habíamos visto en un primer momento, pero cuando alcanzamos a verlos nos acercamos y allí estaban, con la cabeza apenas fuera del agua. Esto debe resultarles refrescante, a pesar de que el día estaba lluvioso y hacía bastante frío.
I guess that because of the rain and the cold, some animals were already sheltered. That is why, when we arrived at the bear area, we only saw one bear.
We did not see the spectacled bear or the brown bear so characteristic of the zoo. But we did see this bear that I don't know what kind of bear it is, but it is a hungry bear, because it was going back and forth looking for a place to get out and surely make us its dinner...
Supongo que por la misma lluvia y el frío, algunos animales ya estaban resguardados. Por eso, cuando llegamos al área de los osos, solo vimos a uno solo.
No vimos al oso frontino ni al oso pardo tan característicos del zoológico. Pero sí vimos a este oso que no sé qué tipo de oso es, pero es un oso con hambre, porque iba de aquí para allá buscando un lugar por donde salirse para seguramente hacernos su cena...

Curiosities
I remember the last time I came here I saw a small plane and other objects. The small plane looks a bit inconic to me so I thought it was interesting to take a picture of it. There was also a locomotive but I didn't take a picture, I don't know why.
On the other hand, there were some plaques with Braille letters, for people who cannot see. Don't ask me what they say, but maybe there is some description of the animal, something to give you an idea of what you are seeing.
Curiosidades
Recuerdo que la última vez que vine vi una avioneta y otros objetos. La avioneta me parece un poco incónica así que me pareció interesante tomarle foto. Había también una locomotora pero no tomé foto, no sé por qué.
Por otra parte, habían unas placas con letra en braile, para las personas que no pueden ver. No me pregunten qué dicen, pero quizás hay alguna descripción del animal, algo para que se hagan una idea de lo que uno está viendo.

Almost on the way out, I found a group of mushrooms in the undergrowth. They caught my attention and I took a couple of pictures, which I share with you below:

Well, it was time to finish the tour. We went again to the exit of the park and there the ride ended. She was going in a different direction from me, so we said goodbye with a warm hug and continued in different directions.
Bien, llegó la hora de terminar el recorrido. Fuimos nuevamente a la salida del parque y allí terminó el paseo. Ella se iría por otra dirección distinta a la mía, así que allí nos despedimos con un cálido abrazo y seguimos por distintas direcciones.

The day was rainy, it was cold and after having walked through the park with some pleasant company, I headed down the avenue, where I would go to catch the bus that would take me back to my town, to my home.

El día estaba lluvioso, hacía frío y tras haber recorrido el parque con tran grata compañía, me encaminé por la avenida, donde me dirigiría a tomar el bus que me llevaría de vuelva a mi pueblo, a mi hogar.

Hola amigo @gaboamc2393, que bonitas fotos del zoológico nos compartes, aunque a mi particularmente te no me gusta visualizar a las especies animales encerradas, se que es parte de la educación de los niños y otras personas que viven en las grandes ciudades como tu.
En mi caso yo vivo cerca del campo y tengo cierta accesibilidad a muchos de ellos.
Pero en lineas generales me gusta tu paseo y las fotos se ven geniales.

Desde luego. Tuve sentimientos encontrados al ver a muchos animales encerrados, como a las aver, por ejemplo, pero al final toda la experiencia se disfruta, mas si es con la compañía adecuada.

Saludos tocayo, se le ve bien formal en esa visita, una pinta de las que usaba en las exposiciones para potenciar la labia, según las experiencias que me contaban jajaja. Me agrada bastante lo ordenado que quedo el texto y la distribución de imágenes.
