Let's travel together #183 - Mănăstirea Rupestră Șinca Veche (Subterranean Secrets at the Temple of Sinca Veche)

in Pinmapple3 years ago

Today's journey brings us a tiny village that is popular for the temple it has to show to the world which is standing still after more than 7,000 years since it dates and where paranormal phenomenons are at home, as well as your deepest wishes that can become true if you have a pure heart.

Secrets and magic are two things that can change the world and every human being through their simple existence.
Of course, both of the words used are well linked to each other and none of them can work or become real having the other one missing, but what we all should know is that the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places and where you expect the least.
I'm not going to judge people who don't have faith in to miracles and unusual things that are happening without a proper explanation behind them, but personally, I do believe in God and that nothing in life happens for no reason.
Hence why I consider that we should definitely take advantage of these rare moments when we can feel a different energy and connection with divinity, because no matter how happy or fulfilled your life looks like, we all have ups and downs and you never know what the next day will bring to you.
Anyway, I still stop making this introduction any longer and let you know that our paths have finally led us to one of a kind place where you will find both magic and subterranean secrets that do have the power to change the world and perspective over everything.

We've heard lots of stories about this place before, and lots of miracles that appeared in people's lives both shared in the news and on the TV, and even though we had in plan to visit this location for around 5 years now, we only got the chance to do it in 2020 when the pandemic was still at the beginning.

We are talking about a historical monument called Mănăstirea Rupestră Șinca Veche that is located in Șinca Veche Village and which is well known as both a monastery where faithful people can come and praying or by simply spending some time into a very calm and peaceful location, but also as a temple where deep down into the subterranean area secrets can be shared and soon to be followed by the results people are hoping for.

Now, to get a little bit back to my previous post where I was saying that Romania presents itself as a whole in front of the tourists due to all the various things you can explore around, even pyramids, the discovery from today's article adds another brick to the wall I'm virtually assembling with all the gems both nature and history can offer to us, talking about a temple.
Yep, a temple. A construction that I was craving for on any post I was reading from our fellow community members that were blessed to live in the Asian countries, just because everything looks so different from what you could see in Europe.
But after my little adventure to Mănăstirea Rupestră Șinca Veche I can say with a smile on my face that I'm happy to also find a pretty good replicate of a temple also in my country until I'll be able to see one of the Asian ones.
Of course, we are not talking about the very colorful temples with lots of towers, dragons, and uncommon architectural elements, but about a more spiritual temple that can be found underground and which is known for the miracles brought in people's lives.
That's why the place is also called Templul Ursitelor (EN: The Temple of the Cursed People) or Templul împlinirii Rugăciunii (EN: The Temple of the Fulfillment Prayings) which is a lot more meaningful than visiting some ruins or grottos where history can be felt on the simple touch of the stone walls.

More than that, the historical monuments that have been dug into the stones represent some of the most important constructions of the country because they are the oldest Romanian feudal tombs which are dating for over 7,000 years now.
However, the history and years that passed over this gem are not the single things that make people gather in big numbers every single day, but actually the legends and mystery of the place of worship which is both a place of silence and fulfilment of the good wishes, but also a location that is considered by quite a few guys, a place where paranormal phenomenons can happen.

Of course, the first part of this whole place we explored has nothing to do with the 2nd part of what people believe because we are talking about the main monastery where the church services are being held and where you won't find anything uncommon. We actually spent a few minutes praying, buying some souvenirs and filling our bottles with fresh holy water that can be collected any time of the year.

Anyway, considering that there are pretty many assumptions that Mănăstirea Rupestră Șinca Veche was part of the same ancient civilization that built up the White Temple located on the Snake's Island, it's really incredible to see the way all these ruins and tombs were maintained for so long. I won't exaggerate saying that they never suffered renovations (more or less) but what I'm saying is that this monastery and temple is a good lesson for people who refuse taking care of different historical monuments saying that they will collapse one day.

Unfortunately, since the village was located at the border with the The Habsburg Empire it comes with a pretty more troubled history that has influences from all the communities that got involved in building and owning these lands.

Though, some elements that I can guarantee they never changed, are the huge rocks which are accompanying the 3-5 minutes long path that connects the monastery with the subterranean temple which have thousands of tiny crosses carved into their construction. The story behind them is not known yet but we are quite sure the place and every single detail you'll observe are not random, not as it is why so many people are gathering together day by day and that the single thing you need in such a location is a little faith and not ask questions because you won't find answers to them anyway. You just have to be there.

Of course the controversies are not stopping here talking about no responses to the questions about the exact date since the temple was built, as well its origins, the architecture or even about the authors behind the creation.
That's why the best way you can describe Mănăstirea Rupestră Șinca Veche is as the Subterranean Secrets at the Temple of Sinca Veche because it's the most inappropriate place where you can find any answers to your questions, while the secrets are being kept safe for centuries and most likely the walls would be the single ones which could offer more details if they were able to speak.
Even though the monastery has two separate altars which are making many people believe we are not talking about a temple with Christian origins, the whole place still dates for Christians which forget about the questions without answers and enjoy the moment they get to spend in such a mysterious place.
There are quite a lot of researchers which are saying that we stay in front of a very unique place in the world that no matter how controversial it is, the inner silence offered as soon as you start walking through the forest which tries to keep the cave away from people's sight is hard to be found somewhere else.

Anyway, since we are talking about a very old construction where the stone walls are being held by a few pieces of wood, there are a lot of advertisements at the entrance where they are making you aware you are getting into a very historical monument that can collapse any time and that you are entering on your own risk.

A not so friendly welcome if you are asking me because I personally felt a small fear which made me want to rush my visit inside the cave, taking fast a few pictures and looking here and there and return outside which made me completely forget about the miracles is able to make and that people who enter into the temple of divinity should take some good minutes or hours to pray for a better living because it represents the single location where things can become true if you really wish and need them in your life.

However, since the entrance to the template is quite narrow and makes you let down for a few moments due to the ceiling which is pretty low, as soon as you enter the cave you won't be limited by the lack of space anymore because the first opening represents the main room every monastery has where the ceiling is very high and which was carved so that the sun's rays penetrate and illuminate the whole place like a bell tower that opens to the sky, without being needed any artificial light.

Even though the temple was initially composed of 9 different rooms, due to the passage of years and to the people who started vandalizing the walls of the cave with the hope to find some hidden treasures of gold, many of these collapsed and the access to the monastery is quite limited, being just two rooms available for visiting but which are also the most meaningful ones.
There are some very narrow windows with not a specific shape that are attracting many people's attention because long time ago before the artificial light was used, the monks were praying and holding church services right into this place, moving after the way the light was moving due to the lack of shine which could help them read the prayings till the end.
There is also the improvised church tower which has a spiral shape and is carved on the ceiling which makes the light fall exactly in front of the altar where it's being said there was a secret underground pass which was making the connection between this place and Râșnov Citadel located 40 km away.

Nowadays, Mănăstirea Rupestră Șinca Veche is more than just a monastery or a temple and that is being shown by the hundreds of people who are visiting the divine place in a single day.
Some of them are talking about inexplicable things that are happening, some about light beams which appear and disappear, some about wishes which are being shared in this place and which are becoming true, some about the unique energy you will feel inside of the cave and so on. But I can't say exactly which of the statements are real and which not because I'm quite sure they differ from a person to another depending on what you are looking for and how faithful you are.

By far the main point of interest is the church tower with a spiral shape which brings light to a specific place where rumours are saying that if you are staining still and having faith, you will feel a specific energy that will bring more peace and beautiful things into your life. I personally didn't get the chance to do it due to the many tourists around and that were waiting in the queue for praying, but I did left a small wish written on the paper which found a place in one of the cracks of the walls.

All the tiny pieces of paper you see, which, if you look carefully you will also notice them under the wood in some of the other pictures attached above, represent wishes that people are hoping for and which if they manage to stand still in the little spaces you find free, along with your heart that has to be very pure, might become real pretty soon.

Ahead of all the paranormal phenomenons many people are talking about such as premonitory dreams and different visions about life, the whole mystery is being strengthened by the light beam which you can see as a white sphere while focusing with your camera to take a picture of, that as soon as you check out the picture, the white sphere can't be observed anymore.

Anyway, as I mentioned before, I do believe that all these things can differ from a person to another depending on what your intentions are and what you truly feel about divinity and life in general. But with just a little faith, you can make your life better, just like we all need a little chaos within us to give birth to a dancing star.

In order to reach and experience the subterranean secrets of Mănăstirea Rupestră Șinca Veche you have to follow any of the roads which are coming from Brașov or Făgăraș because Șinca Veche Village is located between the two cities mentioned which is 45 km away from Brașov and 22 km away from Făgăraș. The enigmatic temple is just 2 km away from the village with the same name where you will find lots of road signs that will lead you to your destination, or a bunch of friendly and nice locals to give you some directions for it.

What an awesome looking place! I love finding these things. Is this in Romania? I wasn’t entirely sure but I think you mentioned Romanian history so I’m thinking it is.

I think it’s definitely one of the things I’m interested in finding is a cool temple! I love those historical religious things, especially one that’s more low key like this instead of those giant ones with lots of money spent. That’s flashy but just for looks I think. This one looks like a real place where people went for their religious duties and is really an awesome find!

Yes, it's from Romania even if it's hard to believe ❤️

All my posts are hidden treasures Romania has to offer, because I love exploring less known sightseeing attractions and I do try my best to promote them further so more people will find out about them ☺️

I was also very surprised to find it on the territory of my home country but that made me even more excited exploring it and I know the feelings you share when you discover such places because I felt the same! 😀

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day! 🤗

Fantastic place, it is dreamlike. I don't want to imagine what wishes Venezuelans would put in their notes, in some corner of this mythical place. I love it. Greetings.

It was a great experience for sure! No idea about Venezuelans but why did you think about them?
This place is located in Romania..

Yes, my friend, I know that your travels are to show us the wonders of Romania. Here in Venezuela, there is a national sentiment to end the socialist nightmare that has destroyed our country. I thought of this when I read in your post, that the wishes written in the notes and placed in the different corners of this temple, will come true. So, I see many Venezuelans, placing in their notes, their wishes for the end of this ruin in our country, is what we all yearn for here. In any case, I love your publication and the marvel that you show us. It is a place that invites reflection and belief that faith can do good things in our lives. Thank you for your post.

Oh, I see. Now it all makes sense after your explanation but it seemed like a misunderstanding on your end mentioning Venezuelans without writing anything about it in my post.

I'm sorry for everything you are going through but just like you said, the temple from Șinca Veche looks like a great place for you which could make your life easier if the intentions are right.

Thanks for the kind words and take care!

Apart from places like this, abandoned cars have stories to tell right? 🙂

Haha, that's a good question! Unfortunately I don't know the story of the abandoned car but it's like 20 meters away from the place where I'm living and I always see it during my walks, but I'm sure it has a pretty interesting story :)

It looks like a very interesting place.

amazing looks like you had a great adventure :)

No doubt about it :)
