Snorkeling trip
We left around 9:00 in the morning, right after breakfast. Our first stop was at a nearby island. We coasted on one of it’s beautiful beaches and could swim from the beach towards the sea in order to see the corals and fish of the nearby reef. Nat was handling the go pro at the time while I took my time taking videos and photos from the beach. She took mostly videos so we have little amount of photos from here. The place was pretty nice and had these huge rocks that would create some interesting underwater corridors for the fish to swim around and for corals to attach to.
This was our boat. Hard to believe it could fit 8 people but we were comfortable enough. Was rough keeping the cameras and gimble dry but other than that it did the job.
The whole area around us was beautiful, full of corals and fish. The area around the rocks as mentioned was pretty interesting as well but don't really have many photos and didn't want to cut some out from videos.
Under water it looked something like this. We saw two massive Blue Tang fishes (Dory from 'Finding Nemo') but Nat caught them only for a brief moment on a video.
From here we took off to a nearby place deeper in the sea. It was probably the least interesting place of all of the snorkeling stops but it still had it’s charm.
I spotted two huge needle fishes straight away. They were just hanging about in the water not moving much. The pictures really don’t show how big they actually were.
This first place was the least colorful one but beatiful non the less. There were a lot of fishes to be sighted and the two big needle fishes at the center of it. The corals were evevrywhere in all shapes and sizes and we spent quite a bit of time here exploring.
Our third stop is the top place for snorkeling, or at least that is what the guide said. It’s a huge area filled with different corals and fish. There was no one else here at that time. Maybe a few boats stopped nearby but didn’t really bump into anyone while exploring around.
So much different corals in this one photo. This pretty much summed up this place. So much different things around this spot i spent so much time here.
Underneath these corals you could often see these purple/blue colors. Here there were a few spots like that where they were on the outside like buns.
I caught a Nemo fish in one of these corals while taking a video and almost bumped into him with the camera. I thought it would be pretty cool on video but it was for such a brief moment, that it wasn't at all as grand as i thought it would be. :D
The final snorkeling spot I didn’t go to because I wanted to take the drone out. Nat was doing the underwater photography and video this time around. I really wanted to see this place but I couldn’t find it on my own when I jumped in the water first. It is a small area that is quite deep as well. You have to dive in order to capture the beauty of this place. Here is where the most colorful corals are - bright red and pink colors and loads of fish inside and around these corals.
I realized while editing that we have 0 photos of ourselves in the water. I took many videos of Nat but I only had a few photos of Nat's dad. This is one of them as he is going deeped in towards the corals.
From here on we headed back towards Lipe. I really wanted to visit that island that I showed you on my last post. The one that we stopped at on our way to Lipe. Unfortunately it was getting late and it would've taken us an extra hour to get there and back. A shame because I planned so many shots and videos with the drone that I never took. Maybe next time, if we go back to Lipe for the fourth time.
Amazing pictures. The underwater world of tropical sea is just so diverse and fascinating. When living in the Caribbean, I used to go snorkeling almost every day, you can never get tired of that :) But I can see that even at such a remote and pristine place, many of the corals are bleached... It´s becoming a global issue apparently, most of the corals that I saw in the Caribbean were also bleached :(
Anyway, this stunning post deserves some extra support :) TipU + nomination to my latest upvote giveaway for more exposure ;)

Thank you so much! This is so true. I believe diving in deeper waters looks different but haven't taken the licensing course yet to do that. Not sure if the bleaching is caused by tourism in these parts or not. There were a lot of corals still that just blend in color with the surroundings.

Beautiful place! Thanks for sharing it, i´ve been at home for so long now, that sometimes i forgot how big the world actually is... And i love the sea... i miss it...
Glad you enjoyed the post! One good thing is when we are all through this pandemic the beaches will be there for us and the planet would've had quite a bit of time to heal some of the damage we've been constantly doing. Hope you can go to the sea soon enough! :)
I missed the colours of the corals when I was there, but it was still very exciting snorkeling.
The new camera is doing great and the photos are sharp and clear.
I hope you can go there again and stay longer.
Glad they look better! We'll see about traveling there. Maybe in the far future.. It's really far away and we have so many other places to explore for the first time. :)
this looks like a beautiful and wonderful experience 😍 thank you for sharing!
