You are in Cumaná, a marine city. This city, capital of the state Sucre in Venezueña of about 350,000 inhabitants, is located at the entrance to the Gulf of Cariaco and at the mouth of the Manzanares River.

The city's cathedral was started in the 18th century. Its main restoration was in 1956 after an earthquake hit the city in 1929. Inside, priceless religious works of art are kept.

Cumaná is bordered on its north coast by the perimeter avenue, an expeditious place of vehicular traffic that also has a beautiful view of the sea. La gente, los vecinos, o prácticamente quienquiera, pueden sumarse a la labor, por lo que la acción se convierte en un espectáculo espontáneo que termina con un pago en pescado por el esfuerzo realizado, o en una compre a bajo precio si solo has sido espectador.
Esta vez me tocó ver como se jalaba un banco de lisas, un delicioso pescado de carne blanca y sabor muy fino que alegró mi mesa ese mismo día.
Continuing along the perimeter avenue, in the sector called Universidad avenue, which contains the different entrances to the San Luis beach, there is a shallow freshwater spring that is, in the flamingo migration season, a resting station for these wonderful birds. If you are lucky and you are attentive you will see them flying over your head in huge flocks that come from the south of the continent.

Siguiendo en la avenida perimetral, en el sector llamado avenida Universidad, que contiene las diferentes entradas hacia la playa de San Luis existe un ojo de agua dulce de poca profundidad que es, en temporada de migración de los flamingos, una estación de descanso de estas aves maravillosas. Si tienes suerte y estás atento podrás verlas volar sobre tu cabeza en bandadas inmensas que provienes del sur del continente.
Es una ocasión especialísima para los admiradores de estas aves que producen en su contemplación un sentimiento de mucha belleza.
Pues al fin llegamos a las blancas arenas y a las claras aguas de la playa de San Luis, destino obligado de quien visita Cumaná.
Esta playa es la mas larga de todo el estado sucre. A lo largo de ella se pueden vivir diversas experiencias. Desde el descanso tranquilo y resguardado por los empleados de los hoteles de cinco estrellas hasta la experiencia enriquecedora que permite el contacto con los habitantes y asiduos de la playa.
En la playa San Luis puede encontrase una gama completa de posibilidades y vivencias para todos los gustos y estados de ánimo.
Quien así lo desee puede matizar su estadía con comidas y bebidas exquisitas, elaboradas por un chef o puede aventurarse a compartir los manjares cotidianos de esta tierra en locales donde abunda el olor del pescado frito, la música y la cerveza.

It is the heavenly moon of love, the one that rises the tide of blood for the imagination of poets.
If you are in Cumaná, don't be afraid to talk during the day, when night comes, when the moon rises, especially during the weekends, Cumanian people think of meetings.
Any reason will do. They will surely wait for you to start the party.
No ha terminado el día en Cumaná, queda la noche joven, gobernada por la luna cumanesa (No hay luna más hermosa). Una luna descarada que se asoma presurosa, cuando aún el sol no ha terminado de ocultarse.
Es la luna celestina de amores, la que sube la marea de la sangre para la imaginación de los poetas.
Si estás en Cumaná no temas conversar durante el día, cuando llega la noche, cuando sale la luna, sobretodo durante los fines de semana, la gente cumanesa piensa en reuniones.
Cualquier motivo sirve. Seguramente te esperarán para empezar la fiesta.
