The Hairy Jungle and a Lake

in Pinmapple2 years ago (edited)

Howdy, vagabonds and everyone in the Hive!

Today, we are going to a site called "Ambulalacao" somewhere in Mount Pulag. This place was one of the areas we have been to last week on the V-Day. The husband and I went to explore and on that day, we were able to check off 2 places on our list.

It was foggy that morning and it looked like it wasn't going to clear out but we were quite wrong.

And so I welcome you to what I would refer to as "The Hairy Jungle!"

About 10 minutes drive from the Tabeyo Lake, we started the short hike from here after we parked the car on the side of the road. There was no designated parking area but there was a space about 20 meters from the gate so it wasn't a big deal for us.

I felt a chill in my body as we started to ascend this wee hiking trail. Might be the cold? Uhmmm.... Being one who is frightful, I couldn't help myself from getting a little scared. What if there's a snake or a boar or something, lol! My imagination can be really wild at times.

Looking up and sideways, we noticed that the trees had a lot of moss attached to their branches which made them looked a bit golden from afar.

Hence, the name "Hairy Jungle" Lol!

The path led us to where a new signage has been installed. We were going to see the second lake that this place (Mystical Kabayan) is hiding on one of its jungles.

There were two narrow ways and we took the one on the left. It was cool that it was the right way descending toward the lake.

And finally... peace... tranquility...

I was wowed...

The Lake's top view on the map

There was very little space on that side of the lake and just one wrong move and you would find yourself in the water.

I felt so small being in the midst of that spectacular sight and I wondered just how on earth this size of a lake is sitting so serene in the middle of that forest. It was just beautiful... We spent a few moments there, just standing still and quietly looking down and around.

Then the husband noticed there was more space on the right edge so we trekked back up to find another way to get to it.

We were back up to where the signage was then followed the other path where we had to go under some tree branches. We were so fascinated with the things we saw around and spent a little more time admiring them, and yes, taking photos too.

A few more steps ahead and we noticed this. It looked like someone tried to burn the logs there. The husband just took a photo and then we turned to the left, it was the second way down the lake.

It was a bit tricky going down and the path was slippery due to the previous night's rain. And adding to it, I wasn't wearing the right shoes. Thankfully, we successfully descended without slipping :)

This is the farthest corner of the lake, still little space to stand in but at least not as scary as the first spot.

We couldn't stay long as it was swampy wet down there so we decided to climb up. We then took more time exploring the jungle's wealth and taking photos of them.

There were much to see there when one is keen to being in the midst of nature and wants to stay up close and personal with the many intricacies and secrets it is hiding.

Thank you for coming along and I hope you enjoyed the wee adventure :)

I don't think I would have been able to do this, my skin will totally crawl but it does seem like an amazing adventure.

Alone, I couldn't too :) But with the hubby, it felt a lot safer :) It was a lovely adventure in the woods :)

I am happy you had a great adventure.

cool you had the place to yourselves lang ha...

Haha, yes sis! When we were just leaving, a couple of kids and a preggy woman arrived and they had the place for themselves too :)

You took some awesome photos while you were out on this great adventure. It must have been awesome to just spend some time while being totally surrounded by nature.

Thank you for sharing it with us!

Thank you and you are welcome :) All were captured by the husband :)

I see wildlife I am thrilled. Beautiful place and I bet it is filled with wonderful animal sounds. Sorry for mosquitos but hey, it is a part of the nature deal ;)

Thank you :) There were birds chirping and yes, mosquitoes are part of nature I guess hehe. Thankfully, there weren't any around the place so we were safe hehe.

Well, at least I don't wear flipflops, hehe

It has been a long time since I dreamt of going to Mt. Pulag and after seeing this blog of yours my interest to visit Mt. Pulag grows more and more.

I hope you get to visit it. This was the Junior Mt. Pulag by the way. We didn't go to the hiking trail. I hope we get the chance next time :)

I hope so too (^_^)
