Traveling Argentina: Iguazu Falls / Viajando por Argentina: Cataratas de Iguazú

in Pinmapple3 years ago
Hello friends, this is the continuation of my trip through Argentina. This time I'm going to talk to you about the Iguazu Falls.

With the great emotion of the unknown, my daughter and I took a flight in Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazú, in the north of Argentina. We left at 6:00 in the morning, it was a short and pleasant flight. When we arrived we went in the taxi of a young man who was doing transfers and he took us to the hotel that we had reserved. We thought the room was fine for the three days we were going to stay, they gave us breakfast because it was early, we left our luggage and from there we went to the bus terminal to see the Brazilian side first, because the falls are between Argentina and Brazil.

We took the bus to the triple border: Argentina - Brazil - Paraguay, we got off to stamp the passport upon arrival in Brazil and then we continued the trip with the bus to the entrance of the Iguaçu National Park. There we paid the entrance fee and that included a tour in a double-decker bus with a guide who walks you through different stops in the park.

We get off at a place where the path begins that takes you to see the different waterfalls until we reach the main one and the most impressive one, the Devil's Throat.

We saw a lot of vegetation, one looked and was left open-mouthed by the magic of that place without equal. We entered the Devil's Throat walk and took the elevator up to the viewpoint to see all these beauties of this place that it is impossible to forget.

We went down from there to continue watching and I had in a bag some snacks to eat on the way, cookies and Mantecol (a kind of Argentine nougat) and a funny little animal called Coati came to me to take the bag from me, he realized that I had something to eat and I picked up the bag but nothing, and a man told me: "Madam, that condemned is not going to leave you alone if you don't give him and he is going to bite you", is that people uses to give them food for that reason they chase you. Anyway, he snatched the bag from me and ran to the grass, grabbed only the cookies, the Mantecol seems he didn't like it and the people laughing at the mischief of this little animal, we didn't have time to photograph him because he ran into the forest.

Afterwards we continued touring the place, we took a break to eat something and walked along a path where there is a long walkway from where you can see the Devil's Throat more closely. What a beauty friends! What an eye-catching place, you have to see it live to feel and record that wonder in your mind! Those huge waterfalls with their foamy fury like snow bringing divine dew towards us. I never got tired of looking and looking and seeing under the viewpoint small lagoons and some baby crocodiles swimming.

If you want to meditate you have to do it in this blessed place. You will see the photos and will agree with me. There is also the incessant melody of different birds and pumas, but they only come out at night.

We returned to Puerto de Iguazú in Argentina, to the hotel where we were staying, we took a bath and went to dinner in a restaurant.

The next day we got up early to go to see the view of the falls on the Argentine side. We took a bus and went to the park, we paid the entrance fee and went to a little train, you can also walk, we got on the little train that stopped in various places and thus we saw spectacular landscapes.

The train station / La estación del tren

The train was made of wood, very beautiful and with that breeze from the forest, pure oxygen. At the end we went down and continued on foot along a path that would take us in front of the falls on the Argentine side. While there, what we saw was something chilling, gigantic waterfalls and although we were not that close, a cold spray came on our faces due to the furious fall of foamy water, there some birds played with that foam.

I was holding myself well in a protective fence they had there, which seemed insufficient and dangerous to me. We also took photos and a boy asked me to take one of him because he was alone.

226.jpg

We spent a long time watching the show and how those violent waterfalls hit the rocks leaving a shower of white clouds.

Then we took a boat ride that took us close to the Devil's Throat but the boat got very close to a waterfall and the driver told us: "get ready to experience the fury of the waterfall." Friends, a strong river fell on us, I almost ran out of air, I even screamed and we got wet to the bone. The bad thing is that my daughter was given a protective bag for her video camera before, but she hadn't closed it properly and it got wet, the camera was damaged but we were able to save the tape with what she had recorded of the trip. What a fright that adventure with the boat gave me ...

All wet, we got out of the boat and walked along a path that was quite uphill and with our shoes full of water, the climb was more difficult. We stopped in a meadow with grass and sat there so that the sun could dry our clothes, thank goodness we were wearing light clothes that dried quickly.

Then we walked towards the exit, around there we took photos of some Guaraní indigenous people who were playing music, by the way the girls were ashamed and turned their faces away.

Leaving the park we returned with the bus to the town of Puerto de Iguazú and arriving at the hotel we took a bath and went for a walk around the town to get to know. We bought some souvenirs, we saw some stores and we stopped for something to eat. Later we went to the hotel because the next day we were leaving early to another longer destination, but I will continue to tell you about that in a future opportunity. I tell you that it was worth it to be in this beautiful place where nature is so perfect that it catches you at first sight, I definitely want to return to this marvel one day.
