Some people prefer to rest by the water, others like hiking in the mountains. There are places where you can do both, such as the Lake District National Park in England. In a beautiful natural place, there are lakes and mountains, including the highest peak in England - Scafell Pike.
Niektórzy ludzie wolą odpoczywać nad wodą, inni chodzić po górach. Są takie miejsca, w których da się to pogodzić, na przykład Park Narodowy Lake District w Anglii. W pięknym przyrodniczo miejscu znajdują się jeziora oraz góry, w tym najwyższy szczyt w Anglii - Scafell Pike.
For thousands of years people have looked out onto the lake and their legacy in the landscape drums a steady beat through history. On Moor Divock, north east of the lake, a Neolithic stone circle and Bronze Age cairns offer echoes from the distant past. Towering over Pooley Bridge, are the ditches and ramparts of the Iron Age hill fort on Dunmallard Hill. Feet of Roman soldiers have pounded the fells south of the lake along High Street Roman road between their forts at Penrith and Ambleside. Norsemen gave Ullswater its name and many others in the landscape which we use today. Gombarrow Park was once a deer park owned by Wiliam Rufus, successor to Wiliam the Conqueror. Glencoyne Farm, with its cylindrical chimneys and crow-stepped gables, was built in the seventeenth century, and on the fells above Glenridding are the scars of a once thriving lead mining industry, which ended 50 years ago.

Niesamowite wrażenie robią góry wyłaniające się zza tafli jeziora.
I came to the Lake District National Park with friends. We had a large tent for several people, which we pitched on a hill, on a camping site. We had a wonderful view of the countryside from there. It was a nice trip for a few days. We walked a lot in the area (there are many interesting routes), we swam in the lake, and in the evenings we made a barbecue on the hill, we also ate marshmallows over the fire. The surroundings were so delightful that sometimes it was enough to sit by the lake and look ahead ...
Przyjechałam do Parku Narodowego Lake District ze znajomymi. Mieliśmy ze sobą duży, kilkuosobowy namiot, który rozbiliśmy na wzgórzu, na polu kempingowym. Rozciągał się stamtąd cudowny widok na okolicę. To był fajny, kilkudniowy wyjazd. Dużo chodziliśmy po okolicy (było tam sporo ciekawych tras), pływaliśmy w jeziorze, a wieczorami robiliśmy grilla na wzgórzu, jedliśmy też pianki opiekane nad ogniskiem. Miejsce było tak zachwycające, że czasem wystarczyło usiąść nad jeziorem i popatrzeć przed siebie...
This was the rest of the campground. Lots of tents placed close together. Glad we pitched our tent far from the main campsite. And it was enough to go down the hill and we had access to showers, toilets, wooden tables where you could eat breakfast. There was also a wooden pier by the lake.
A tak wyglądała reszta kempingu. Dużo namiotów postawionych blisko siebie. Cieszę się, że rozbiliśmy nasz namiot daleko od głównego kempingu. A wystarczyło zejść ze wzgórza i mieliśmy dostęp do pryszniców, toalet, drewnianych stolików, przy których można było zjeść śniadanie. Nad jeziorkiem znajdował się również drewniany pomost.
I liked this tree that had no leaves on it despite the summer. It looked peculiar and cast an interesting shadow ...
Spodobało mi się to drzewo, które mimo lata nie miało na sobie żadnych liści. Wyglądało osobliwie i rzucało ciekawy cień...
There were a lot of canoes and sailboats by the lake. Some kayaks had a nice wooden inside.
Nad jeziorem było dużo kajaków i żaglówek. Niektóre kajaki miały fajne drewniane wykończenia.
There was a town near the campsite where you could buy something to eat, go to a restaurant for dinner or buy something in the local shop. Such a typical small English town.
Niedaleko kempingu było miasteczko, w którym można było kupić coś do jedzenia, pójść na obiad do restauracji bądź kupić coś w miejscowym sklepiku. Takie typowe, małe angielskie miasteczko.
I liked this puzzle set with a camping theme.
Spodobał mi się ten zestaw puzzli z motywem kempingu.
