I walked around Ueno Park in Tokyo in the evening, which had the advantage that I could see a lot of illuminated lamps with beautiful Japanese paintings. There were several temples in the area and the beautiful Tori gates. When it was dark, I felt that I perceived these places in a different, deeper way.

Of course, I also paid attention to Japanese nature. Lots of beautiful trees - Japanese cherries, which make a lot of people come here during the cherry blossom season. I also liked the Japanese Maples.

Oczywiście zwróciłam też uwagę na japońską przyrodę. Mnóstwo dorodnych drzew - wiśni japońskich, które sprawiają, że podczas sezonu kwitnienia wiśni przychodzi tu mnóstwo ludzi. Podobały mi się też klony japońskie.

Even though it was dark, a lot of people were walking in the park. In Japan, I felt very safe and I was not afraid to walk there alone, without anybody I knew.

And this is what the lamps in the park looked like. See how beautiful they are!

This is a lovely street near the park.

To urocza uliczka w okolicach parku.

I saw on the information posters that there are several temples in the park, including the very famous Ueno Tōshō-gū temple.

To get to it, I walked under the gray Tori gate, then through a dark passage lit by small lamps, and when I got to the temple, it turned out that unfortunately it is already closed. I could only see her from the room, from behind the gate.

The passage towards the temple was dark but cool.

And this is what the temple looked like.

The main building of the shrine is a honden (main hall) in the Gongen-zukuri style, a complex Shinto shrine structure in which the haiden, or worship hall, the heiden, or offertory hall, and the honden, are all interconnected under the same roof.
The whole building dates from 1651, [3] and it is designated an Important Cultural Property.

I wish I could see the shrine during the day. Maybe someday ... I would like to go to Japan again one day during the blooming season of Japanese cherries. Who knows, maybe it will work :)
