Hello everyone! I went to the oceanarium with one of my friends. We were very excited and happy to see all these beautiful fish, sharks, seals, dolphins, jellyfish, etc. It was an amazing day for us!
We saw many different species: manta rays, moray eels, sea turtles, otters, seahorses, clown fishes, stingrays... There were so much to see! The aquarium has three levels. On first level we could see small fish, sharks, octopus and other creatures in big tanks. Second floor had big tanks with bigger fish. And third level was the biggest part of the aquarium with more than 200 animals from the deep blue sea!
The building of the Oceanário de Lisboa is huge. It's near Parque das Nações, where I usually go to buy food or do some shopping. But this time it turned out that the best place for me was at the Oceanário, enjoying the beauty of our underwater world.

The Oceanário de Lisboa is a great place for kids. There are lots of different attractions for children. You can feed the dolphins, watch penguins dance on the stage, play games and learn more about fish and other marine animals.
And now, I want to share with you what I learned there about the ecosystem of our oceans. There is a giant aquarium in the center of the main hall. In the middle of the water there is a vertical column with windows, through which you can see everything going on inside.
The sharks were swimming above the top of the tank. They looked like flying fishes! But they are not fish at all. Sharks are predators. Their ancestors were reptiles. So... why they have those funny fins? Because they move around by using them.
There were a lot of different kinds of fishes in this room. Some of them are really strange. For example, sea horses are actually fish but their front legs are actually horse legs! I thought I could sit here forever watching all these interesting things. But let's get back to the topic. The second level had big tanks with bigger fish. There were some kind of cuttlefish, starfishes and some other animals. But we didn't spend too much time there because the next level was waiting for us.
On the third level there were even bigger tanks with even bigger fish. You could see more detail when you look closely. I like sharks very much, they are so strong! How can they swim so fast?! One day I will be able to touch one in a real life. That would be awesome!
The section with birds, ducks and penguins was also very nice. The penguin pool was the best part of the entire aquarium. This was something new for me. I'd never seen such colorful birds before. They were dancing in the water and chasing each other.
And dozens of fish whose names I did not know. I'm sure that if you've ever been to this place you have noticed that there are two types of fish in most of the tanks: cichlids and angelfish. Cichlids are colorful and can have a lot of different colors in one body. Angelfish are always white or silver. My friend asked me whether these were different species or just different variations of the same thing. I don't know the answer to that question.
Taking pictures of fish is not as easy as taking photos of people. The problem is that most of the time the fish move and you need to take a picture of their movement. To make it easier, I used Burst mode and took over 100 pictures in less than ten seconds. I hope you'll enjoy it.
It was really nice to visit this place. I liked it so much that I decided to write about it in my Hive blog.
