When they say you attract the same vibes you emit, I can assure you it's true. During my time traveling, I've had the opportunity to take a ton of beautiful trips, and as always, I couldn't say no to any of them. One of the reasons I returned from Ushuaia after a long stay there was to accompany my dad on his vacation. I had the time and savings to do so, so I didn't hesitate to join another adventure, which turned out to be our sixth together 😃.

En mi tiempo viajero, tuve la oportunidad de hacer un montón de paseos hermosos, y como siempre, no le pude decir que no a ninguno. Una de las razones por las que volví de Ushuaia después de haber tenido una larga estadía ahí, fue para acompañar a mi papá en sus vacaciones. Tenía el tiempo y los ahorros como para hacerlo, así que no dudé en unirme a una aventura más, que resultó la sexta que hicimos juntos 😃.
Traveling alone is something I love, but if the company is good, I'm not down for it. Last year, my dad, my brother, and I went on vacation together to Bariloche, in southern Argentina. We had promised that this year we would try to go on another trip together, and the moment arrived faster than I had thought. He had his vacation scheduled for April, right in the month when it started to get really cold in Ushuaia, so it was a good excuse to pack up my things and move. Unfortunately, my brother couldn't join us this time, but anyway, just my dad and I make a good traveling team.
Viajar sola es algo que me encanta, pero si la compañía es buena, no me niego. El año pasado, mi papá, mi hermano y yo habíamos ido juntos de vacaciones a Bariloche, en el sur de Argentina. Habíamos prometido que para este año intentaríamos hacer otro paseo juntos, y el momento llegó más rápido de lo que había pensado. Él tenía sus vacaciones programadas en Abril, justo en el mes en el que empezaba el frío fuerte en Ushuaia, así que fue una buena excusa para guardar mis cosas y moverme. Lamentablemente mi hermano no pudo acompañarnos esta vez, pero de todos modos solo mi papá y yo hacemos un buen equipo de viaje.
My dad is one of those people who knows a place and wants to return there again and again, so on his vacation, he chose to go to the province of Córdoba for the third time. Before that, I had already been to Córdoba a few times, but the great thing about this place is that there's always something new to see. Indeed, he chose the town of Santa Rosa de Calamuchita as our base and we could travel by public transportation to other nearby places. I didn't have much influence on this decision; I just took care of finding affordable accommodation and putting together a sightseeing itinerary for the 10 days we planned to spend there.
Mi papá es de esas personas que conocen un lugar y ya quieren volver siempre ahí, por lo que en sus vacaciones eligió ir a la provincia de Córdoba por tercera vez. Antes de eso, yo ya había ido a Córdoba unas cuantas veces, pero lo bueno de este lugar es que siempre hay algo nuevo para ver. Efectivamente, eligió la localidad de Santa Rosa de Calamuchita para que hiciéramos base y poder movernos en transporte público a otros lugares cercanos. Yo no influí mucho en esta decisión, solo me encargué de conseguir un alojamiento a buen precio y a armar un itinerario de paseos para los 10 días que teníamos pensados pasar ahí.
To get there, we took a long-distance bus from Retiro, Buenos Aires, which cost us about $40 each. After a 10-hour trip and more than 700 kilometers, we finally reached our destination. I wasn't exactly familiar with this town, so the trip would be new to both of us. While at the bus station, we checked out the prices of urban buses to explore other places, and we were surprised to see that for less than $3 we could get great rides to neighboring towns. A great option for us, since we were traveling without a car.
Para llegar allá, nos tomamos un micro de larga distancia partiendo desde Retiro, en Buenos Aires, que nos costó unos $40 a cada uno. Después de 10 horas de viaje y más de 700 kilómetros recorridos, finalmente estuvimos en nuestro destino. Yo no conocía precisamente esta localidad, así que el paseo sería nuevo para ambos. Estando en la terminal del micro, nos encargamos de averiguar los precios de los colectivos urbanos para ir a conocer otros lugares, y nos sorprendió ver que por menos de $3 podíamos tener unos buenos paseos a las localidades vecinas. Gran alternativa para nosotros que andabamos sin auto.

For our accommodation, I got a nice apartment for $35 a night, but since we had arrived very early, we had to wait about three hours before checking in. This forced us to explore the city a bit before unpacking our things. We were both light and like walking, so this wasn't a problem. The city of Santa Rosa de Calamuchita seemed very peaceful, especially on a Sunday morning.
Para nuestro alojamiento, conseguí un buen departamento por $35 la noche, pero como habíamos llegado muy temprano, debíamos esperar unas tres horas antes de poder hacer el check-in. Esto nos obligó a recorrer un poco los alrededores de la ciudad antes de desempacar nuestras cosas. Los dos ibamos "ligeros" de carga y nos gusta caminar, así que esto no fue problema. La ciudad de Santa Rosa de Calamuchita se veía muy tranquila, y más aún un domingo a la mañana.
Something that caught our attention during our walk was finding a building with a somewhat Arabic style. It was a nightclub with this very unusual atmosphere. This place stood out from the rest of the city, modest and reserved in appearance. I suppose the owner wanted to stand out from the crowd, and he succeeded, creating a good setting to attract people even when it was closed.
Algo que nos llamó la atención durante nuestro paseo fue encontrar una construcción con un estilo un poco árabe. Se trataba de una discoteca con esta ambientación muy curiosa. Este lugar desentonaba con el resto de la ciudad, de aspecto modesto y reservado. Supongo que el dueño buscaba destacarse entre todo y lo logró, creando un buen escenario para atraer gente incluso estando cerrado.

The time we needed to kill before entering the apartment passed quickly between walking and talking. My dad and I get along really well on outings like this, and that's why this is the sixth time we've taken together: we've gone to the beach in Buenos Aires twice, we've gone to other parts of Córdoba twice before, and the last time was in Bariloche. I like having the opportunity to walk with him because I feel like we can talk about anything and not get bored. And this time was no exception 💕.
El tiempo que necesitabamos hacer antes de ingresar al departamento pasó muy rápido entre caminata y charla. Mi papá y yo combinamos muy bien en paseos como este y por eso es el sexto que hacemos juntos: en dos ocasiones fuimos a la playa en Buenos Aires, dos veces anteriores fuimos a otras partes de Córdoba y la última había sido en Bariloche. Me gusta tener la posibilidad de pasear con él, porque siento que podemos hablar de todo y no nos aburrimos. Y esta vez no fue la excepción 💕.

To put one image next to another, I use a table directly here in peakD. You can do it from a computer or mobile device. The HTML code is this for a regular table with one row and two columns. If you want more columns, simply add < t h > < / t h > (without the spaces).
This is useful if you have vertical images and want them to look better next to other horizontal images :)
