Ehrwald - Zugspitzbahn - Zugspitze (2950 m) - Ehrwald
Lermoos - Tuftl Alm (Aussichtsplatform) - Lermoos
Lermoos - Grubigsteinbahn - Grubigalm - panorama bench Lermoos - Lermoos
It was Wednesday, the sun was shining from the early morning and we were ready for the highlihgt of our holiday - Zugspitze. I will not write more details as I have already done so in my previous article.
We were the first ones waiting for the cable car in the valley station in Ehrwald.
The journey took about 15 minutes and afterwards we were enjoying wonderful views.
We spent there about 2 hours, went down by the cable car and decided to take advantage of clear blue sky and go for a light trip to a view place just above our village Lermoos. The views of Zugspitze which we had during our journey were just amazing.
We were walking up a steep hill, most of our way led through forests and sometimes, we saw some mountain peaks behind the trees.
After about 1,5 hour we reached the top. Suddenly, we were in a large meadow with high mountains with their snowy peaks creating a beautiful background. There was also a viewing platform from which all the mountains looked as if they were in the palm of our hands. We were just standing there speechless, watching all that beauty.
After we had almost enough (I think a man can never have enough of that), we moved to Tuftl Alm - a cottage nearby the platform. There were lots of people sitting outside on the terrace, enjoying the sun, warm weather and the real Tirol atmosphere emphasized by the owner playing the accordion. We had some typical Austrian meal (Käsespätzle) and beer of course. We felt just perfect and we almost didn´t want to leave but there was still some hours of walking before us.
As we were going down, it was quite quick and easy walk.
And still, we had a good chance to see the mountains from different angles.
We came back to Lermoos sooner than we expected and as the weather was still really nice and we had some time and free entries to cable cars, we decided to go up to Grubigalm - our very first trip.
Again, we could see Zugspitze but again, behind the clouds. We had really a good timing with our trip in the morning and were quite lucky to have crystal clear sky when we were on the top.
After some time, we got off the cable car and couldn´t believe our eyes. The view (of course) was completely different than the first day.
We were simply surrounded by the mountains, we could also finally see the value of the panorama bench.
We could see also the peak of Grubigstein (2233 m).
Literally, I had to be pulled away because I could stay there staring forever.
Undoubtedly, it was the best and most exciting day of our holiday.
Wow! Stunning views, envy you a bit 😄
Well told story! Keep it up😉
Thank you, @onlavu! Well, it´s been some time we were there, even I start to be envious as well 😀
Thanks you so much, @ewkaw
