The Warairarepano Cable Car, formerly known as the Avila Cable Car, was inaugurated in 1955 and was considered internationally as the most modern, safe and innovative in its style. Even though it is not as high as the Merida Cable Car, I must confess that the first time I went on it I felt a little scared, but in fact it is a very safe travel.
El Teleférico Warairarepano, antiguamente conocido como Teleférico del Ávila fue inaugurado en 1955 y fue considerado a nivel internacional como el más moderno, seguro y novedoso en su estilo. A pesar de no ser tan alto como el Teleférico de Mérida, debo confesar que la primera vez que subí sentí algo de miedo, pero en realidad es un trayecto muy seguro.
On the way up you can appreciate the capital city in the distance, as we approach the mountain. When we get to Ávila, we can find different attractions, one that I loved was the ice skating rink, where I had the opportunity to skate (I must say that it is not as easy as it seems).
En la subida puedes apreciar la ciudad capitalina que va quedando a lo lejos mientras nos acercamos a la montaña. Al llegar al Ávila podemos encontrar diferentes atracciones, una que me encantó fue la pista de patinaje sobre hielo, en la cual tuve la oportunidad de patinar (debo decir que no es tan fácil como parece).
You can also take a guided tour of the old Humboldt Hotel and learn about its history. You can also take a ride in rustic vehicles to the Galipán town, where you can have lunch, buy some handicrafts and beautiful flowers.
También se puede realizar una visita guiada al Antiguo Hotel Humboldt y aprender sobre su historia. Asimismo, puedes tomar un paseo en vehículos rústicos hasta la población de Galipán, donde puedes almorzar, comprar algunas artesanías y hermosas flores.
Being at the top of the Avila, allows you to enjoy an unparalleled panoramic view of Caracas city on one side, and the coast on the other, bathed by the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
If you are sporty, the tour to the hill can also be done through a walk, but it is good to climb with someone who knows the path, in order to avoid getting lost. If you are looking for a quiet plan for the weekend, I recommend you to visit this beautiful place.
Estar en lo alto del Ávila, te permite disfrutar de una inigualable vista panorámica de la ciudad de Caracas de un lado, y del otro, el litoral, bañado por las aguas del mar Caribe.
Si eres deportista, la subida al cerro también puede hacerse a través de una caminería, pero es bueno subir con alguien que conozca el camino para evitar perderse. Si estás buscando un plan tranquilo para algún fin de semana, te recomiendo que visites este hermoso lugar.
