One of my magical days in Thailand

in Pinmapple4 years ago

We went on a day trip to Huai Mae Khamin. For me this trip felt so surreal. Once you pass Erawan waterfalls, there are no tourists to be found anymore, and the whole round trip alongside a massive lake is just one magical view right after the next. This is a throwback to my Thailand trip from 2018. To see the whole trip you can check my trips on my profile on Haveyoubeenhere!

Huai Mae Khamin Waterfall

The Huai Mae Khami is the less famous brother of Erawan waterfalls. Almost noone ventures out here, as you can see we had the place to ourselves. After jumping in the cold water we relaxed for a while in the sun at a nearby viewpoint. It's quite the drive from Kanchanabur to get herei but the round trip is 100% worth it. I would recommend going by scooter, else you won't be able to drive all the way around the massive nearby lake.

My rating: 9/10

ปิ่นไพร โฮม

This is a local ferry point to cross acros the lake. It completely felt like a fairytale to me. We had just visited Huai Mae Khamin. The sun was slowly starting to set, a tiny local shop was next to the ferry check point and a monk was waiting to get on with us. The ferry captain, completely fitting of a story as well. I would highly recommend crossing here during sunset, it's amazing. Do keep in mind it means you will be driving a while in the darkness to get back to Kanchanaburi.

My rating: 10/10

I do love a good waterfall. In your 3ed picture is the waterfall actually cascading over the wooden stairs? That doesn't look sustainable if so. Maybe it is just a plant and the angle.

That makes the two of us for sure! 😄

Yeah it is, it was slippery for sure, I guess they replace it from time to time!
