Hello dear Hivers!
It´s been a while since I was in the city center and I somehow miss it. Yeah, I miss the days that I had to hurry up so I wouldn't be late for work... In the course of my working years, I worked for three companies at different times all located just within the St. Stephens Cathedral. The other day, I went to the State Opera to make a tour of the interior and see the stage or the theater where the Ballet Dances are performed twice a year. I only toured the Opera once and it had been decades ago.
There are advantages to working in the city center since the shops are all over . From my point of view as a working wife , it was a blessing for me despite the stressy job...I made errands during lunch breaks and these small errands resulted in less food shopping during weekend.
One disadvantage is at the peak of Summer when all tourists come to the city all at once, mostly by buses and rails, one could hardly move freely because of the huge crowd, the subway is full too.
After the Opera tour, I decided to pass by the Volksgarten to see its roses, they are now in full bloom. The roses here can be sponsored for a fee, one can dedicate a variety to someone and the name of the sponsor will be tagged below the rosebush.
Roses at the Volksgarten, Vienna
The Volksgarten is a public park that can be found between the Ringstrasse and the Hofburg just behind the Heldenplatz. In this park, there are about 400 varieties of roses, and thousands of numbers of roses planted in its garden. Anyone can sponsor a rose variety for a duration of 5 years that would cost 350 Euros. The fees will be used to maintain the plants. I have heard there is a waiting list for those who would like to have a sponsorship.
The cards that you see in this row of roses are those sponsors, the card states the name of the variety, the name of the sponsor, to whom it is dedicated or simply contains a phrase given by the sponsor him/herself.
Back to the Opera Premises
These buildings can be found along the Ringstrasse (Ring Road)
Ohw! Those lovely flowers and the beautiful clean place got my attention😍
Thank you for the appreciation.

Thank you very much.
@dswigle..done Denise darl! Thanks a ton!
The flowers remind me of our visit to Huntington Library Museum Arts. The city is as beautiful and historic as the buildings.
Yep, I enjoyed your tour there too... Thanks.

Thanks a lot for the support.
What a lovely tour! I miss the different kinds of roses blooming at the same time at our rose garden here in the city. I also like that they have information about the roses in yours. I hope there is something like that here as well.
Those structures have interesting architectures. I would probably be spending a day just for one building looking at the details lol!
Wonderful tour for #MarketFriday. Cheers!
What a nice garden, great photos! 😀
And the city looks so clean! 😍
Thank you, the city admins see to it that the surroundings are clean. That is one reason that Vienna won the most liveable city in the world for 2022. It is also the healthiest city in the world based on the survey conducted in Jan 2022. I think the tourists can also see how clean it is and perhaps no tourist would simply throw trash on the grounds, it would be shameful for her/him since the waste bins are all over the place, lol.
Of course! Is so simple.. Its a pitty the others countries don´t see that..
For example in Rome you have only 1 bin per 2 blocks.. It´s a shame
Oh that is really a pity..I visited Amsterdam before the pandemic, there were so plenty of tourists and the streets were full of garbage, tourists simply threw everything on the street particularly near the Central Station..what a mess!
Have a great new week!
Wow! What a lovely idea with the Rose plant sponsorship. I bet the garden smelled Rose scent, nice to sit and chat there especially with your friends.
Indeed @jurich60... but when it´s hot you could have an umbrella and continue chatting with your friend while smelling the scents of the roses behind you. Thanks for dropping- by.
