I visited my cousin a few months ago since we haven't seen each other in a while. I travelled all the way the Newcastle, South Africa. The town is surrounded by mountain ranges and has plenty of gorgeous flora. During the rainy season, the town is covered in a layer of fluffy clouds, making it the perfect opportunity for sightseeing. We decided to visit Vulintaba, a Resort close to Newcastle.
We decided to visit the restaurant after exploring the grounds and set off on one of the many hiking trails. We didn't plan on going off-road but the adventure side got the best of us.

Despite the fact that we didn't dress for a hike, we made our way up the hill. Even just a short bit up the hill, the view is amazing. The trail is surrounded by ferns and you can see the wind touching the tops of the trees. All the greenery makes one feel at home.
We made our way through some of the trees and finally found the rock formation the receptionist told us about. It was not officially rainy season yet, so the waterfall was mostly just a sprinkle.
If you look closely you can see the water droplets falling down to earth.
Rock formations are fascinating to both of us. Although I feel like my cousin is more focused on the beauty of the formation and not the formation of the history.
I wanted to show you the waterfall, but unfortunately, it is not as visible in the photo. The sprinkle and the sound of water had a calming effect on both of us. Water is such a powerful source in nature.
Rock formations tell many stories. Geologists study rock formations and are able to tell us stories of what happened in nature thousands of years ago. I also think that if we look long enough we will see the happenings unfold before us. We can touch a piece of history, not just by touching antiques but even by touching nature.
We made our way back to the restaurant and had to stop for a photo of the chapel.
My cousin loves taking his own photos but is camera shy once someone else is behind the camera.
My grandmother refers to us as "kaboters". I like to think we are two halves of a whole idiot (a reference to Fairly Odd Parents). We never stop laughing when we are together, and always try to make others laugh. I think if this adult thing doesn't work out for us we can become comedians.
We nearly fell while trying to take this photo. I kept making jokes about the cows; he just couldn't keep a straight face.
