Land of sunsets
Today I have a some time to continue my story about our trip to Southeast Asia. As I already wrote, the main purpose of our trip was China. But when we realized that the country of islands and stunning sunsets, the country of our dreams will be in an hour's flight, we could not resist and decided to add a week in the Philippines to the travel program.
As you know, the Philippines is a country of islands. The farther from civilization, the cleaner the beaches and the more beautiful the nature. And if you decide to visit any of these islands, you must be prepared for a difficult and lengthy route. Sometimes, in order to get to your holiday destination, you need to make several changes. Let me give you an example. To reach one wonderful hotel with a sunset view, we needed to fly from Hong Kong to Manila, there to make a transfer to a local flight. Fly to the nearest island with an airfield. Then it was necessary to hire a taxi to the coast to the seaplane stop, which takes tourists to small islands without a runway. After landing the seaplane, you transfer to a boat that will take you to the hotel. This option seemed too difficult to us.
After a long search, I chose the town of Puerto Galera, which is located on the island of Mindoro.

I found a wonderful hotel in the Puerto Galera area. I was attracted by pictures of bungalows on stilts with roofs made of palm leaves. I have never been to such a hotel. In addition, I was attracted by the impressive discount on the promotion offered by the hotel. The decisive factor for me was that the hotel has an office in Manila and offers its guests a transfer to the destination at a reasonable price.
Again, it makes sense to describe the route from the airport in Manila to the Coco Beach Hotel on Mindoro Island. It seems to me that only the most ardent fans of holidays in the Philippines will be ready to repeat this twice.

In Manila, I realized what a real tropical rain is! It started out of the blue. Streams of water erupted from the sky. The streets instantly turned into rivers. I watched in amazement as laughing children float through the streets in fruit boxes! It was amazing! Half an hour later, the downpour stopped, the sun shone.
So... you arrive at Manila airport. Now You need to take a taxi to the hotel office where the group of tourists is being formed. You get into a minibus that takes two hours to get to the port. In the port terminal, you spend an hour and a half waiting for a boat called "banga". What is banga? In fact, this is an ordinary wooden boat with a engine to which (boat) two counterweights in the form of logs are added for stability.
When we plunged into this "banga" together with the locals and their belongings, goats and chickens, when it got dark and the fresh night wind raised a wave, I thought that maybe it was not worth making our life so difficult and limited to visiting China ...
In such situations, I always remember my late grandmother. When I was going to go somewhere in the summer or on vacation, she was always surprised: "And you want to go so far! Better stay with me! I'll bake you some pies, I'll tell you a fairy tale ..."
Years have passed since her departure. And here I am sitting in horror in some incomprehensible boat in the middle of the stormy sea, I am swimming somewhere with the worrying goats and chickens, and I remember my grandmother's words - "Do you really want to go so far?"
In total darkness we arrived in Puerto Galera. There was a slight commotion. Residents briskly unloaded their luggage and pets. I got the idea that we still need to get to the hotel. My memory told me that it was about 15-20 minutes by sea before it. I asked the captain if the boat would go to the hotel? He answered in the negative. It became clear that there should be a transplant. Here I heard someone say my name with an eerie accent. Our fellow travelers, a married couple from Denmark, did not forget that we were going with them to the same hotel. They stopped the owner of a small "banga" in time, who was about to sail away without us and who did not care deeply about the number of tourists in his boat, whom he had to take to the blessed Coco Beach
As I loaded my suitcases into a small boat, I thought that I would no longer be able to withstand the movement of the sea. I was on the verge of breaking down. But looking at the completely calm Europeans and my happy companion, I calmed down a little.
We got to the hotel in 10 minutes. The hotel staff arranges a gala welcome for each arriving guest. Probably, they understand in what condition a guest who is not used to this type of transport arrives at their hotel. Therefore, as soon as the boat touches the pier, multi-colored lanterns flash, the guitar sounds, and you are happily congratulated on your arrival. Each guest receives an amazing fruit cocktail. I have never drunk a more delicious fruit cocktail in my life!

Как я уже писал, Китая нам показалось мало, мы еще решили заскочить на Филиппины. Как говорится в одной поговорке - "Для бешеной собаки и 7 вёрст не крюк"
Всего час лёта в окружении прекрасных стюардесс и ты на Филях! Кроме того, нас подстёгивала цена перелёт, всего 30 зелёных енотов!

Как известно, Филиппины - страна островов. Чем дальше от цивилизации, тем чище пляжи и красивее природа. И если вы решили посетить какой-либо из этих островов, вы должны быть готовы к сложному и продолжительному маршруту. Иногда, чтобы добраться до места отдыха вам понадобится сделать несколько пересадок. Приведу пример. Для достижения одного замечательного отеля с видом на закат нам требовалось прилететь из Гонконга в Манилу, там сделать пересадку на рейс местных авиалиний. Совершить перелет до ближайшего острова имеющего аэродром. Затем нужно было нанять такси до побережья к стоянке гидросамолета, который доставляет туристов на маленькие острова не имеющие взлетной полосы. После приводнения гидросамолета вы пересаживаетесь в лодку, которая довезет вас к отелю. Такой вариант показался нам слишком сложным.
После долгих поисков я остановил свой выбор на местечке Пуэрто-Галера, которое находится на острове Миндоро.
В районе Пуэрто-Галеры я нашел замечательный отель. Меня привлекли фотографии бунгало на сваях с крышами из пальмовых листьев. В таком отеле мне бывать ещё не приходилось. Кроме того, меня привлекла внушительная скидка по акции предлагаемой отелем. Решающим фактором для меня стало то, что отель имеет офис в Маниле и предлагает своим гостям трансфер до места отдыха по резонной цене.
И снова есть смысл описать маршрут от аэропорта в Маниле до отеля Коко-бич на острове Миндоро. Мне кажется, только самые ярые фанаты отдыха на Филиппинах будут готовы повторить это дважды.
На пути к Пуэрто-Галера
В Маниле я понял, что такое настоящий тропический дождь! Он начался совершенно неожиданно. С неба изверглись потоки воды. Улицы мгновенно превратились в реки. Я с удивлением наблюдал как смеющиеся дети плавают по улицам в коробках из-под фруктов! Это было потрясающе! Спустя полчаса ливень прекратился, засияло солнце.
Итак вы прилетаете в аэропорт Манилы. Здесь вам нужно взять такси до офиса отеля, где формируется группа туристов. Неопределенное время вы ожидаете сбора группы. Сидевшие в офисе датчане сказали нам, что они прилетели ранним утром 4 часа назад! Затем вы усаживаетесь в микроавтобус, который два часа едет до порта. В терминале порта вы полтора часа проводите в ожидании лодки, которая называется "банга". Что представляет собой "банга"? По сути это обыкновенная деревянная лодка с мотором, к которой для устойчивости добавлены два противовеса в виде бревен.

Когда мы погрузились в эту "бангу" вместе с местными жителями и их скарбом, козами и курицами, когда начало темнеть и свежий ночной ветер поднял волну, я подумал, что, наверное, можно было бы и не усложнять нашу жизнь и ограничиться посещением Китая...
В таких ситуация я всегда вспоминаю мою покойную бабушку. Когда я летом или в каникулы собирался куда-то в дальнюю дорогу, она всегда удивлялась: "И охота же тебе ехать в такую даль! Оставайся лучше у меня! Я тебе пирожков напеку, сказку расскажу..."
Прошли годы после ее ухода. И вот я сижу в ужасе в какой-то непонятной лодке посреди штормящего моря, плыву куда-то вместе с волнующимися козами и курицами, и вспоминаю бабушкины слова - "Неужели тебе хочется ехать в такую даль?"
В кромешной темноте мы прибыли в Пуэрто-Галеру. Возникла легкая суматоха. Жители бойко выгружали свой багаж и домашних животных. Мне пришла мысль, что нам еще необходимо добираться до отеля. Память подсказывала мне, что до него примерно 15-20 минут морем. Я спросил капитана, поедет ли лодка в отель? Он ответил отрицательно. Стало ясно, что должна быть пересадка. Здесь я услышал как кто-то произносит моё имя с жутким акцентом. Наши попутчики, семейная пара из Дании не забыли о том, что мы едем вместе с ними в один отель. Они вовремя остановили владельца маленькой "банги", собиравшегося уплыть без нас и которому было глубоко плевать на количество туристов в его лодке, которых он должен был доставить в благословенный Коко-бич

Перегружая чемоданы в маленькую лодку, я думал, что больше не выдержу передвижений морем. Я был на грани срыва. Но глядя на совершенно спокойных европецев и мою счастливую спутницу я немного успокоился.
До отеля мы добрались за 10 минут. Персонал отеля устраивает каждому прибывающему гостю торжественную встречу. Наверное, они понимают в каком состоянии непривычный к такому виду транспорта гость прибывает в их отель. Поэтому, как только лодка касается пирса, вспыхивают разноцветные фонарики, звучит гитара, и вас радостно поздравляют с прибытием. Каждый гость получает потрясающий фруктовый коктейль. Никогда в жизни я не пил более вкусных фруктовых коктейлей. Только ради этого я бы поехал туда еще раз
