Ceramic molding from clay. Have you tried yet?

in Pinmapple2 years ago

Have you ever molded clay to make pottery yet? If not, I will lead you the experience of making ceramic to create satisfactory works. Today's experience has a location in Bat Trang pottery village. You have to spend money to buy tickets to this area. Each ticket is about $ 3 for one person. When you come in, you will follow the instructions of the artisans here. You have to bring an apron on your body to avoid clay sticking to your body. Equipments such as clocks, rings, necklaces must be stored to avoid dirt sticking.

With each ticket, each adult will be given a block of clay to squeeze pottery. The children who have been led by their parents will often choose to color on ceramic works that have been completed. After receiving the items, people will start choosing the position to try their skills. Do you know how to squeeze pottery? If not, you will have 2 ways to learn to do that. The first method is you will watch the video tutorial from artisans on the TV screen and from there you follow. The second method is you can see how to do directly from artisans here. And from there you can perform your own work.

You see, there are many people who come here to experience the feeling of being Bat Trang artisans. From old to young, everyone is happy to come here. In this area there will be a lot of rotating tables. Each round table will be cleaned when there is a newcomer, near each round table will have a chair and a bucket of water for you to squeeze pottery. There will be three rows and people will sit a long line to squeeze their work. Each person will have a separate idea of the object they want to squeeze. Some people will squeeze the animals, some people will squeeze the daily items, some people with heavy statues, ... Each work has its own beauty.

The works made from ceramics of everyone when they shape the pottery can take home. Before you take home, you will go through the soil drying to make your work dry and harder. Some people who do not want to bring home can leave here for display. I also squeezed myself a satisfactory work, which is a glass of water. Although it is ugly, I am still happy with this experience.

Wow that's interesting to learn how to make a pottery by yourself. I heard about Bat Trang pottery before, but I don't know that they have that kind of class. It's a great idea to preserve one of the best traditional villages in Vietnam.

This is a great idea and I have learned many things here.

I've never tried molding ceramic but I find it so relaxing if you know how to do it. The activity is on my "to-try" list, tho 😌

You should try this at least once.
