in Pinmapple2 years ago
Hi everybody. I hope you are all healthy always. Also, you should be happy. last week, my friends and I visited this museum. This is a museum that records history in Indonesia. The name of this museum is the National Awakening Museum (Museum Kebangkitan Nasional). In Indonesia there is a day of commemoration of the national awakening day, namely on May 20, 1908. In that year the first modern organization in Indonesia, Budi Utomo was born.

The location of this museum is in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. very cheap to enter this museum. You only pay IDR 2,000 for the entrance ticket to this museum. You can see the whole museum, but you must bring drinking water. this museum is very wide, you will be tired to walk around in this museum. I feel scared when walking around in this museum. There is a smell of old wood at this location. I think if this place is inhabited by ghosts.

Again discussing this museum, the Utomo Budi Organization was initiated by students studying at STOVIA. STOVIA is the perfection of the Javanese Medical School education system. Before changing to STOVIA, this building was a Javanese Medical School which was founded in 1851 at the Weltevreeden Military Hospital. Currently, the hospital is named Suebroto Galot Hospital.

This place began to change its name to STOVIA in 1902. However, in 1920, all educational activities were transferred to Salemba. Later, the STOVIA building became a student dormitory. Then in 1926 the student dormitory moved to Salemba. The Dutch East Indies government used the STOVIA building as a junior high school building. However, I do not know the name of the school at that time. After Indonesia's independence, this place became the National Awakening Building. Precisely on May 20, 1974, it was inaugurated by President Soeharto.

At that time the management of the building was carried out by the Department of Education and Culture. Then, in 1983, this place was used as a museum to preserve the history and culture of the past. This place has a large collection of furniture, walls, paintings, sculptures, medical lamps, clothes, weapons, photos, miniatures, paintings to replicas. The most interesting is the miniature Dutch colonial ships. This place is perfect to visit with children. You can teach history to children. There are many stories about characters and events that you can introduce your children to.

There are many collections of the history of the struggle of the Indonesian people against Dutch colonialism. oh yes, I took a photo with the statue of Tirto Adhi Soerjo. Currently his name is one of the media in Indonesia. Tirto is one of the press figures in Indonesia. He built the first newspaper and news in Indonesia. In fact, he has also become one of the figures for the national revival in Indonesia. But Tirto died young. He died at the age of 38.

This place holds a large collection of the history of the Indonesian struggle to expel the Dutch. In this museum, there is a statue of Ki Hajar Dewantara. Ki Hajar Dewantara is the father of national education in Indonesia. He became a symbol of the progress of education in Indonesia. He has contributed many things to advance education in Indonesia. So, the day of his birth was designated as National Education Day. From now on, Indonesia is a country that has large and extensive natural wealth. This is what makes Indonesia the target of the colonizers. Starting from Portuguese, Dutch and Japanese.

In this museum there is a collection of spices that are well kept. as a sign that Indonesia is very rich in spices. I was very impressed with the doctor's equipment which was very large. One of them is a device to record heart rate. Very large. In fact, the tools for making the medicine were enormous. Lucky I live in 2022, all equipment is very simple and small. Back to discussing this museum.

In this museum there is a painting of Prince Diponegoro who is practicing war. In the history of Indonesia, there was the Diponegoro war which was the biggest war on the island of Java. The war was led by Prince Diponegoro. This war took place throughout the island of Java. Sometimes, we call this war the Java war. This war lasted for five years, from 1825 to 1830. It was recorded that there were 200 thousand victims of this war, there were 7,000 Indonesians and 8,000 Dutch colonialists.

However, the Tomb of Prince Diponegoro is located in Makassar. Until now, Diponegoro's descendants are not allowed to enter the Yogyakarta Palace, because they are considered to be descendants of rebels. However, I did not find a statue of Raden Ayu Kartini, a woman who recorded the history of education, especially for women. There are several statues of another heroine in this museum, Maria Walanda. She is a heroine from North Sulawesi. Maria always reminds her students to wear the national dress. Very interesting is not this museum? You must visit this museum.
