We have planned to make our last campsite in Portugal somewhere near Lisbon, preferably on one of the beautiful beaches of the Setúbal Peninsula. Along the southern coast of the peninsula is the quite high Arrábida mountain range, and what's more, the entire area is covered by the Arrábida Natural Park. There we also decided to look around for a convenient beach for camping. The choice of accommodation turned out to be quite simple. The small beach of Praia dos Coelhos, about 5 minutes walk from the main road up a steep slope, far from civilization, seemed to be a great choice. After reaching the beach parking lot, the accuracy of our choice was questioned. A group of 4 young Portuguese, accompanied by loud music played from a bluetooth speaker, came out of the path leading to the beach. Each of them was clearly under the influence of alcohol and what's more, all four of them burned the grass. In general, I would have nothing to do with it, everyone should do what they want, and besides, they were leaving the beach, not going to it. How great was my surprise when I saw these young people unlocking one of the cars parked by the road with their keys, getting into it and leaving as if nothing had happened. How is that? A huge surprise, but what to do, you just fear to drive on Portuguese roads. Later I read that in Portugal the rules on driving under the influence of alcohol are quite lenient. As long as your blood alcohol content does not exceed 0.5 per mille, you can feel safe! After exceeding this limit to the next threshold of 0.8 per mille, for driving a car you may face a fine of about 250 euro to 1250 euro and withholding the driving license from 1 month to 1 year, so quite a lot, but 0.8 per mille, you must drink probably from 4 beers to get such a result. Only exceeding the threshold of 0.8 per mille results in serious consequences, such as a fine from 500 to 2,500 euros and withholding the driving license for a period of 2 months to 2 years. Either way, fear to be afraid to drive on Portuguese roads. After descending to Praia dos Coelhos, it turned out that we would not be alone there overnight. In the left corner of the beach, one tent was already put up, but it did not bother us to put up a tent on the right side, because the beach is for everyone and there was room for many people on it. The night was very calm, the sound of the sea lulled us to sleep beautifully, but around midnight, two connoisseurs of trans techno music came to the beach, who, using the possibilities of their bluetooth speaker, made a decent beach party. Luckily it was quite bearable techno so after a short wake up we went back to sleep.

Zaplanowaliśmy sobie aby nasz ostatni Camping w Portugali zrobić gdzieś w okolicy Lizbony najlepiej na jednej z przepięknych plaż półwyspu Setúbal. Wzdłuż południowego wybrzeża półwyspu rozciąga się całkiem wysokie pasmo górskie Arrábida, a co więcej cały ten obszar objęty jest Parkiem Narodowym Arrábida Natural Park. Tam też postanowiliśmy rozejrzeć się za dogodna plaża do biwakowania. Wybór miejsca noclegowego okazał się dość prosty. Niewielka plaża Praia dos Coelhos oddalona od drogi głównej o jakieś 5 minut spacerem po stromym zboczu, daleko od cywilizacji wydawała się świetnym wyborem. Po dotarciu na parking przy plaży celność wyboru stanęła pod znakiem zapytania. Z ścieżki prowadzącej na plaże wyszła grupa 4 młodych Portugalczyków, którym towarzyszyła głośna muzyka puszczana z głośnika bluetooth. Każdy z nich był wyraźnie pod wpływem alkoholu i co więcej cała czwóreczka popalała sobie trawę. Ogólnie nie miał bym nic do tego, każdy niech sobie robi, co chce, a poza tym oni wychodzili z plaży, a nie szli na nią. Jakie wielki było moje zdziwienie, gdy zobaczyłem, że ci młodzi ludzie otwierają kluczykami jeden z zaparkowanych przy drodze samochodów wsiadają do niego i jak gdyby nigdy nic odjeżdżają. Jak to? Ogromne zaskoczenie, ale co zrobić, po prostu strach jeździć po portugalskich drogach. Później doczytałem, że w Portugali przepisy dotyczące prowadzenia pod wpływem alkoholu są dość łagodne. Dopóki zawartość alkoholu we krwi nie przekracza 0,5 promila możesz czuć się bezpiecznie! Po przekroczenie tego limitu do kolejnego progu 0,8 promila za prowadzenie auta może ciebie spotkać kara ok 250 euro do 1250 euro i zatrzymanie prawa jazdy od 1 miesiąca do 1 roku, więc dość dużo, ale 0,8 promila, to przecież trzeba wypić chyba ze 4 piwa aby taki wynik wykręcić. Dopiero przekroczenie progu 0,8 promila skutkuje poważnymi konsekwencjami takimi jak grzywna od 500 do 2500 euro oraz zatrzymanie prawa jazdy na okres od 2 miesięcy do 2 lat. Tak czy inaczej, strach się bać jeździć po portugalskich drogach. Po zejściu do Praia dos Coelhos okazało się, że nie będziemy tam nocować sami. W lewym narożniku plaży był już rozstawiony jeden namiot, nie przeszkadzało to jednak nam rozstawić namiot po prawej stornie, plaża przecież jest dla każdego i było na niej miejsca dla jeszcze wielu ludzi. Noc była bardzo spokojna, szum morza pięknie ukołysał nas do snu, jednak koło północy na plażę przyszło dwóch koneserów muzyki trans techno, którzy do maksimum wykorzystując możliwości swojego głośnika bluetooth zrobili sobie porządną plażową imprezę. Na szczęście było to całkiem znośne techno więc po krótkiej pobudce, wróciliśmy do spania.

In the morning, we packed our tent without delay, and as the morning weather was not very nice, we went west without conviction to sunbathe on one of the most beautiful beaches in this area. Unfortunately, the cloud cover meant that the drive through the Arrábida Mountains was devoid of any views, and apparently the views from the road on which we were driving are beautiful. However, when we got to the Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo beach, the weather improved a bit. And very well, thanks to this the beautiful beach made an even better impression. The name of the beach can be translated as a horse's head beach, because it is said that one of these rocks, immersed in the sea right next to the beach, resembles a horse's head.

Rano bez zbędnej zwłoki spakowaliśmy nasz namiot, a że pogoda o poranku nie była bardzo ładna bez przekonania ruszyliśmy na zachód aby plażować na jednej z najpiękniejszych plaż tego rejonu. Niestety, zachmurzenie spowodowało, że przejazd przez góry Arrábida pozbawiony był jakichkolwiek widoków, a ponoć widoki z drogi po której jechaliśmy są prześliczne. Natomiast gdy dotarliśmy do plaży Praia do Ribeiro do Cavalo pogoda troche się poprawiła. I bardzo dobrze, dzieki temu przesliczna plaża robiła jeszcze lepsze wrażenie. Nazwę plaży można przetłumaczyć jako plaża głowy konia, bo ponoć jedna z tych skał zanurzonych w morzu tuż przy plaży swoim kształtem przypomina właśnie końską głowę.
