Have you ever got out of your car and experienced a real shock due to the outside climate? So far, something like this has happened to me twice, both in Iran. Once in the south of Iran, on the Persian Gulf in the city of Bandar Abbas, where after leaving the bus I learned as if I had entered a Roman sauna in which someone had spilled gasoline on the floor. High temperature, incredibly high humidity and the ubiquitous smell of petroleum. The second magical Iranian experience is getting off the bus in the village of Shiraz in the middle of the desert. The heat wave that hit me then was comparable to the moment of opening an oven heated to 250 degrees Celsius. The trip to Portugal brought me another - already the third such unforgettable experience.

Zdarzyło wam się kiedyś wysiąść z samochodu i przeżyć prawdziwy szok związany z panującym na zewnątrz klimatem? Mi dotychczas takie coś zdarzyło się dwa razy i oba w Iranie. Raz na południu Iranu nad zatoką perską w mieście Bandar Abbas, gdzie po wyjściu z autobusu pouczyłem się jakbym wszedł do sauny rzymskiej, w której ktoś na podłodze rozlał benzynę. Wysoka temperatura, niesamowicie wysoka wilgotność i wszechobecny zapach ropy naftowej. Drugie magiczne doświadczenie z Iranu to wyjście z autobusu w miejscowości Shiraz na środku pustyni. Fala ciepła jaka mnie wówczas uderzyła porównywalna była z momentem otworzenia piekarnika nagrzanego na 250 stopni Celsjusza. Wyjazd do Portugali przyniósł mi kolejne – już trzecie, takie niezapomniane doświadczenia.

The Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina National Park stretches for about 100 kilometers along the west coast of Portugal from the very south to Sines. It covers an area of 895 square kilometers and is the most biodiverse area in Portugal. We visited it in several places, but the one I will remember best is the vicinity of Odeceixe. When we got there, we stopped in an almost empty parking lot (it happened again that in an extremely attractive place there were hardly any tourists), we got out of the car and was shocked! I felt like after leaving the car I entered a salt cave in some SPA center. Pleasant humidity, a clear smell of salt, and a perfect sea breeze, not too warm, not too winter. In a word, perfect living conditions.

Park Narodowy Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina rozciąga się na długości ok 100 kilometrów wzdłuż zachodniego wybrzeża Portugali od samego południa aż pod miejscowość Sines. Ma powierzchnie 895 kilometrów kwadratowych i jest to najbardziej bioróżnorodny obszar portugali. My odwiedziliśmy go w kilku miejscach, ale tym które zapamiętam najlepiej są okolice miejscowości Odeceixe. Gdy dotarliśmy tam na miejsce zatrzymaliśmy się na niemal pustym parkingu (kolejny raz zdarzyło nam się, że w niezwykle atrakcyjnym miejscu nie było prawie żadnych turystów), wyszliśmy z samochodu i szok! Czułem się jakbym po wyjściu z samochodu wszedł do groty solnej w jakimś centrum SPA. Przyjemna wilgotność, wyraźny zapach soli, i idealna bryza morska, nie za ciepła nie za zima. Jednym słowem idealne warunki do życia.

Not only the pleasant climate and picturesque cliffs made us remember the Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina National Park. The flora of the park was a perfect rescaling of the rockery that my mother used to run near the house many years ago. The mix of Mediterranean, North Atlantic and African vegetation found here consists of about 750 species of plants, of which over 100 are endemic, and at least a dozen were also found in my backyard rockery. When we parked the car near Odeceixe, we were able to take a few kilometers walk along the coast in the park and I must admit that it was quite a surreal experience. I felt as if I could walk around a well-designed and carefully cared for great endless garden. Undoubtedly one of the best place in Portugal.

Nie tylko przyjemny klimat oraz malownicze klify sprawiły, że dobrze będziemy wspominać Park Narodowy Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina. Flora parku była idealnym przeskalowaniem skalniaku, który moja mama lata temu prowadziła koło domu. Występująca tutaj mieszanka roślinności śródziemnomorskiej, północnoatlantyckiej i afrykańskiej to około 750 gatunków roślin, z których ponad 100 to gatunki endemiczne, a co najmniej kilkanaście znajdowało się również w moim przydomowym skalniaku. Parkując auto koło Odeceixe mogliśmy zrobić sobie kilkukilometrowy spacer wzdłuż wybrzeża po parku i przyznam, że było to doznanie dość surrealistyczne. Czułem się jakbym mógł chodzić po dobrze zaprojektowanym i staranie zadbanym wielkim niekończącym się ogrodzie. Bez wątpienia jedno z najlepszych miejsce w Portugali.
Even just looking at the pics, I could feel that the air is so fresh our there. The place is best for unwinding.
