Last August 29 was our National Heroes Day here in the Philippines. Since it was a holiday, we decided to go to a garden resort just 20 minutes away from our village.
Who is your modern hero?
As for me, I considered my mother, my heroine. I admire my mom for working so hard for the family and it is time to treat her on a date. Since she really loves flowers, I thought of taking her on a flower garden date.
I already visited Sirao Peak and Sirao Little Amsterdam with my friends before so now let me introduce another famous tourist spot for plant lovers like my family.
Sirao Pictorial Garden is located at Barangay Sirao, Cebu City, Philippines. This is just before Sirao Little Amsterdam. This has become known for its Instagram-worthy places for picture-taking and swimming pool.
Actually, the 2 gardens have similarities. The variety of flowering and non-flowering plants and the giant hand statue in the second garden are similar to that in the first garden. The only difference is that Sirao Pictorial Garden has a swimming pool.
SIRAO PICTORIAL GARDEN ENTRANCE FEE
There are 2 separate entrances for the garden and pool.
- Garden: 70 pesos
- Pool: 100 pesos
Children below 3 feet are free of charge.

VIEW-SPOT
There are two similar view spots in the area. Both view spots have overlooking view of the mountains.. The place is also surrounded by different kinds of flowers.
HAND STATUES
These enormous hand statues here are perfect for a nice photograph. Look how gorgeous the place is in the background. We just have to be extra careful in climbing the stairs.
WINDMILL TOWER
Same as the last garden that I shared before, here in this garden they also have a tower structure with a windmill.
MAN-MADE NEST
We had to climb the stairs going to the man-made nest. There you'll see some giant eggs. We were like in a dinosaurs nest.
PLANTS AND FLOWERS
My mom and I really love flowers and when we see flowers around us it can make us feel happy. The vast colorful scene is such a good sight.
This part of the garden below shows different kinds of flowers like white Lilies, spider flowers, ahito, and many more.
SWIMMING POOL
The place was quite cold when we were there, we only had a short dip into their swimming pool since my mother couldn't bear the cold water. However, my niece was still enjoying the swimming activity.
Above all, it is necessary to go out with family to strengthen the bond. Studies have found that families who love group activities together share a stronger emotional bond as well as an ability to adapt well to different situations as a family.
HOW TO GET THERE
By Motorcycle
- Ride a motorcycle from JY Square Lahug, Cebu City.
By Van
- Ride a van from Ayala Center cebu terminal. Then, tell the driver to drop you off at Ayala Heights. Then you may walk or ride a motorcycle going to the garden.

Wow, ka nice sa place. Specially mga flowers. Maka flowers jud ko hahah. Nganu wala man ko kalaag diha dapita sauna nga diha pako Cebu? Karon raman ko kahibaw ani nga lugar sad.
Sauna wala pa kaayo mga suroyanan dre pero karun ubay2x na. Bisita niya balik hehe
