Recently, I posted some of my travel adventures around the beaches and waterfalls here in Cebu especially in the North and South part. Today let me tour you around the mountainous part of Cebu. Aside from the beaches, Cebu also has a beautiful view of the mountain which is so relaxing.
With a beautiful ray of sunshine on a Saturday morning, my cousins and I decided to have a quick getaway. We went to a place that is famous for numerous pine trees, a colorful bridge, and a cable car.
Balamban has become the home of beautiful tourist attractions, from the gardens in Buwakan ni Alejandra to the fun zipline activity at the Adventure cafe.
Aside from those mentioned above, JVR Island in the Sky is also a must-visit when you plan to explore tourist attractions in Balamban.
WHERE IS JVR?
This place is located in the countryside of Barangay Gaas Balamban Cebu near famous spots like Buwakan ni Alejandra and West 35. It will take about an hour drive from Cebu City to arrive here.
LET'S EXPLORE JVR
JVR is a mountain retreat you can enjoy if you want to take a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. A range of outdoor activities can be enjoyed by the guests here. Aside from the beautiful view of nature, you can also enjoy their cable car, swimming pool, and more.
After a 20-minute ride from our place to here, we arrived and took a photo near the entrance after paying the entrance fee of only ₱50 for adults and 25 pesos for the kids. The trees in the background make the place more inviting. I always love being surrounded by green colors everywhere.
Moments later, we found ourselves enjoying the 500-meter colorful hanging bridge. One of my cousins was afraid of heights but later on, she managed to conquer her fear.
At the end of the bridge, you'll see a way full of ornamental plants that leads you to the cottages.
After spending some time in the cottage, we continued our way following the stairs up until we saw a cage that says "Hi My name is Moymoy". Then we saw a cute monkey.
You'll see stairs leading you down to the swimming pool and more colorful cottages. I was having a good time looking at the view and feeling the cool climate around the place.
Suddenly, we saw 2 guests riding the cable car going down. I asked the girls if they wanted to ride but they were a bit scared. Sad to say, I wasn't able to experience the cable car at JVR. I might try it next time with Rex and share it here.

In conclusion, we enjoyed the weekend touring around JVR Island in the Sky's calmness of nature and relaxing vibe.
