Hello, and howdy beautiful people in this awesome community. How are you today? I hope you are all safe and sound as we explore another magnificent place and create wonderful memories together.
Last week was another great adventure for I made a virtual tour with you around Nanda Cafe in Consolacion, Cebu. This time, I will be showing you another excellent escapade I made while going home last Sunday.
It was around 4 p.m. while traversing the road going to the North of Cebu, I spotted this beautiful signage saying "TARIMA CAFE and RESTO". Although I've passed by here a lot of times, and I'm so eager to drop by the place and try what could be seen inside but have no chance to visit for I am in a hurry always when visiting the City.
Gladly today, I made it. Insisting my friends to stop for a while at "TARIMA CAFE and RESTO, my wish was granted. Without any knowledge about the place, we started to explore.
Tarima is a common term used for a block of wood or palette. Maybe the place got its name from it.
Common, let's start exploring!
While walking into their entrance, I was surprised to see the area for I am not expecting this to be this stunning and full of flowers. You will see a lot of flowers planted in white big flower pots.
This is the pathway to the entrance of the cafe. As you can see it was just near the highway. While walking, I am thinking what are the things to do here and why I am so interested to drop by.
Reaching the foot of the hilly cafe, you will see that there are a lot of cute footpaths made until you reach the top portion of the place.
On the other end of the place, you can see another colored footpath with a lot of flowers and plants along the trails.
Have you seen that colorful path? That is not the stairway to heaven. lol. But that is the path to the staycation house that feels like a heavenly place of its alluring view. I never knew that this place accepts visitors who wish to stay overnight. You can enjoy the view and the swimming pool on the upper portion by booking the place exclusively.
Walking towards their cafe, you need to pass by their cute Nipa Huts (in local terms Bahay Kubo). This is made of local materials such as bamboo poles, coconut wood, and cogon grass as the roof of the huts to make it look cozy for the visitors.
While sitting down inside the Nipa Huts, you will feel the breeze of the fresh air touching your face. You will surely not feel bored in the place for you will see a lot of plants and flowers around every hut.
On the upper portion, you can see benches for visitors. A lot of options to choose from where you want to sit.
After walking in their cute footpath and cozy nipa huts, finally you will reach the cafe.
The cafe is not that big though. It's just a simple place offering different foods for visitors.
From what I observed, the place has limited stocks only. Some of the food written on the menu is unavailable. After making an order, we then sit on the chairs available in front of the cafe and make ourselves comfortable while waiting.
As I observed, the dining area of the place is also made from Tarima.
While waiting for our orders, we are so delighted with the view that we see from afar.
The view of the whole place from above is also magnificent. From the flowers planted in the area, the different ornamental plants, the nipa huts, the trees around, and the footpaths, I could say that the short escapade to the place is all worthwhile.
While the food is not yet served, I have the opportunity to roam around the place and try to get some photos of the different views that could be seen inside.
This Tamarind Plant captures me the moment I enter the place. As you can see, the plant is full of sweet tamarind fruits. Seeing these fruits is mouth-watering already.
You can also see Calamansi Fruits grown in the area. It also bears fruit already even though it is so small. There are a lot of Papaya Fruits and a horseradish plant on the corner of the place.
The white trails are so cute with bougainvillea flowers planted around. Kids and adults will surely love to make a pose in the area. While waiting for our orders, I didn't see any boring moments here. Your eyes will enjoy the view and plants that could be seen around.
Because it's our first time dropping by the place, we are not familiar with the food served. Also, some dishes are unavailable this time, so we just order light snacks.
We choose to have fries, clubhouse sandwiches, and spaghetti. For the drinks, we also love to drink mango shakes and hot coffee. There are lots of food to choose from on the menu but we only opted to have these familiar foods to not waste our money with the foods ordered.
After eating, we discussed with each other that the food is delicious. The spaghetti is not so sweet nor sour and it was so meaty and saucy which I love about spaghetti. On the other hand, my friend may not be satisfied with the fries because the fries were served cold already. Its best service should be a little bit hot to make it crispy. The club sandwiches, it was delicious. Overall, the food is mouthwatering.
How to get there?
Tarima Cafe and Resto is located at Binongkalan, Catmon, Northern Cebu — approx. 2 hours away from Cebu City.
By Bus: From the SM Bus Terminal, ride any bus/mini bus going to the North. Tell the driver to drop you at TARIMA CAFE and RESTO near Binongkalan Stop Over. The place is just near the highway so it can be seen by anyone.
By Private Car/Motorcycle: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to TARIMA CAFE and RESTO.
Indeed, that was a beautiful experience we made. Exploring another tourist destination makes me feel energized during the weekend and motivated to go to work.
Due to the pandemic and restrictions during Covid 19, a lot of cafes and restaurants are booming around different places. One proof of which is Nanda Cafe and Tarima Cafe. These cafes paved the way during the pandemic when businessmen are thinking of ways how to help people to look for alternatives to enjoy and relax even though we are bombarded with a lot of problems during those times.
Luckily, these cafes are still up until this time and slowly making their names hit by the visitors coming to the area. These cafes are also putting up a little bit of additional enhancement so that people will still be delighted to come back.
