Hello friends
In today's post, I would like to take you on a discovery of another beautiful place that I had the good fortune to get to know a few months ago thanks to a friend of mine who lives in Castelfranco Veneto in the province of Treviso. What I want to show you today is practically one of the thousands of Veneto villas that are still present in this area, and which represent a heritage that must be preserved for the future.

I plan, as soon as I have some time, to take you on a discovery of other Venetian villas as well, because they are really worth it.

The villa I am going to talk about in this post is Villa Bolasco and is located in Castelfranco Veneto, the first villa, or rather the first stately complex, was built around 1509 by the comma corner family, which was an important Venetian family that wanted to build in that area of the countryside at the time, a villa that was used as a second home, to escape the suffocating heat of Venice.

In addition to building the villa with an important stable inside, the important garden park was constructed, which in 2018 was awarded the prize for the best park in Italy, an important recognition that is awarded annually.

Over the years, the villa changed hands to various families, but the last heirs were the Bolasco family, who bequeathed this villa with its park to the University of Padua, which is now the caretaker of the restoration and is used for important business and scientific meetings.

This room, which you see in the photos, was the main hall where the meetings are held, it is very beautiful and impressed me a lot, also because the restoration was done recently, the amount of money the university invested was high to recover it, I am happy about that.

Unfortunately, the villa is not always open to visit inside, as you may have guessed it only opens in conjunction with important meetings and gatherings, but you can freely admire the park garden that is right next to the villa itself. I recommend if you have the opportunity to take a nice walk inside this garden, you will see that you will come out very relaxed because of the direct contact with nature.

Rumour has it that this park garden was mentioned in Tolstoy's books. In 1700, the Russian was visiting Venice, and was therefore a guest of the Corner family, and was very impressed by this park garden, especially for its centuries-old trees and its beautiful pond that was right there in the park.

From my point of view, it is very nice that these places remain available to the citizenship, in the end they do not belong to one person but to the whole community, because it is something that has been important to our history.

I hope you enjoyed this post, see you in the next post, have a great day.
